We should of drafted the best players available. I'll guarantee you that Cameron Jordan will make a prowbowl before Ryan Kerrigan.

3-4 DEs rarely make probowls. 3-4 OLBs do make probowls.

You do realize that NE (that great organization you know?) passed on Jordan as well and they run the 3-4 as well. So why are we dolts for passing on him, and the Pats brilliant? Hell, they need pass rush just as bad as we do.

I'm sure you've gone over all their game film repeatedly, unlike Shanny and crew just viewing youtube highlights of players. Amateurs I tell ya.

I wouldn't say the pats have drafted well the past 5 years or so. They've drafted 3 rbs and 4 corners in the first two rounds over that span. And passed on clay matthews.

I just want to say that I'm not saying that they've done bad, just that they are overrated when it comes to hitting their picks. However, nobody moves around the board better.

The draft itself is a crap shoot. However, the more picks you have, the higher your chances of landing people that will impact your team. It's funny though, this guy on Extremeskins broke down the drafting records of BB vs Shanny and Shanny actually had a better success record than the Hood Rat himself. Even then, I think Shanny has said that you'll be a genius if 1/2 of your picks pan out.

edit: I didn't mean to give off the impression that the Pats were some drafting gurus. They aren't, but they have more pics than anybody so their chances are probably higher they'll get more impact people out of the draft.

That's it. The Pats are not better drafters. They are just better at having more picks, giving them more opportunities for hits.

On top of that, the Pats have such a good team that they can almost always trade from a position of strength. Rarely do they need a "playmaker", hell sometimes they don't even need a starter. So they can wheel and deal and be in a position to move when they want to b/c they never NEED to.

You may be right. But a better argument would be that Jordan is a better scheme fit than Kerrigan.

That said, I think we got a heck of a player in Kerrigan. I'm good with that pick.
