I don't quite agree with this. Just because we were out of it, doesn't mean Beck would have gotten a start. Rex knew the system much better compared to Beck so Shanny isn't going to start a guy he doesn't feel is ready to run the system. Beck having a year under his belt to learn the system from the sideline may in fact be ready to challenge Rex for the starting QB position. That said, I don't think they are just going to "hand the keys" to him without him winning the position over in camp. I do believe they'll try to bring in either Hasslebeck or Young to compete as well.
