2011 Draft: Which First Round Picks Do You Feel Will Bust?

Mine are as follows.

Jake Locker - QB - Titans - I just don't trust Chris Palmer to tap into Jake Locker's talent. The good news is he'll have a running game, a line to protect him, and a defense and he'll win games in spite of average numbers earning the obscure arbitrary title of "winner."

Cam Newton - QB - Panthers - I don't like the idea of a team on the verge of loosing it's only receiving threat, bringing in a raw QB with a defensive head coach. Of course Newton is a "winner" so all arguments are moot. On top of that Newton doesn't pass the 26-27-60 rule.

Aldon Smith - OLB - 49ers - He's not a winner. Lol, but in all seriousness I get the Aaron Maybin/Manny Lawson/Jamaal Anderson vibe. A guy who was drafted to high over better prospects. Most notably Quinn.

Von Miller - OLB - Bronco's - Not that he's going to be a bad player, just more of a why are you drafting a 3-4 OLB 2nd overall when you play a 4-3. Basically in order to be worth his high draft status in this defense he'll have to play like Derrick Brooks. Maybe a better way of putting this is drafting Glenn Dorsey to play a 3-4.

Nick Fairely - DT - Detroit - Taking a risk doubting Fairely paired with Suh, but I've seen the overkill strategy blow up in Detroit before. On top of that the opportunity cost doesn't help. In Detroit you have a talented but oft-injured QB that for 6 games will be chased by the likes of Peppers, Matthews, and Allen. Ironically Jamaal Brown would be a perfect fit in Detroit.

Anyway I don't want to take all the fun.

Miller is the least likely player to fail in the draft, and I don't feel that the scheme is any issue.

I am skeptical of the following picks: Cam Newton, Julio Jones, Jake Locker, JJ Watt, Nate Solder, Clayborn, Taylor, Carpenter, Baldwin. Baldwin is a good risk at 26, because his upside is no. 1 receiver, but I'm skeptical that he will work out.

Newton, Ponder, Fairly, Watkins, Jimmy Smith.
Newton and Fairly both seem to think they've "arrived" instead of recognizing that the work is just beginning.
Ponder seems like he'll be burdened by too many high expectations, too soon, because he was drafted by a team "on the verge of greatness" with heavy, late-playoff expectations
Danny Watkins seen like a great guy, but he has very little football background and he's coming to the party a little late.
and I suspect Jimmy Smith has too many deeply ingrained behavioral issues to be magically straightened out by the Raven's locker room
