Most interesting to me, once again, is the hypocrisy on the right. Its seems like an opportunity to get together and demand change in accountability practices within what is the institution, "wall street." Does the right remember who created the anti-wall street movement? Remember the tea party, the anti bailout movement which created it? Remember main street vs wall street Sarah Palin speeches (stolen from Paul)? I dont get it anymore...Cantor says "mob" but when tea party demonstrates, its democratic right? I just dont understand...it seems like a perfect opportunity to look at reason why our economy collasped, here is a big hint....it wasnt because the government was involved.
What Cantor said was stupid unless he was talking about a spicific group that was causing problems. I personaly don't have a problem with what they are doing but they don't have very clear msg. They aslo complain about not having a job but I'm guessing their not out looking for a job while protesting.

I'm guessing your referring to my statement about how they must smell. I don't think I'm generalizing when they are camping in an area without any real bathrooms or showers. So if you cannot shower or wash at some point you start to stink. Also the local resturants have had to close their bathrooms because they kept trashing them.

Re: 'Occupy' types

there is an "occupy baltimore" camp thats been going on for a week or so now in downtown baltimore. i usually vote democrat, dont mind paying taxes which seems to go to the poor and lazy, i like to grow my beard when work allows, ex-hippish type but dang, these occupy baltimore people for the most part seem to just be lazy types who want to say they are doing something by doing nothing.

me and my lady drive by there saturday night around 7 pm, there some live rap show, the guy is talking about how white people built jails to put black guys in, racism in the south ..then he proceeds to drop the n word a few times. my lady was like WTF? she wanted to get out of the car and curse them .. right in downtown baltimore they are blaring their crap ass rap dropping the n word, talking about some BS racism shit at 7 pm on a satruday night right in the inner harbor where there are families with kids walking around. (i like hip hop so im not just hating to be a hatter)

funny thing is, we drive by there around 10:30 am the next day, everyone of those lazy ****s arent even up yet . . . theres probably about 100 or so of them.

they talk and have signs saying they wants jobs . . theres a million freaking jobs out there for you to make 30-40k a year. go to the baltimore city gov website. sorry theres not a job out there wanting to pay unkempted white people 100k a year to save whales or something that you also get to sleep in for . .

i just dont get it. wish baltimore city would kick them people out. homeless people cant put up tents in the park where this occupy things is going on but a bunch of nonsense, lazy 20 something granola eating yahoos can?

I'd love to see the unemployment office head down to one of these camps and find out how many are collecting unemployment while protesting. I'm sure they are not out looking for jobs between protest.LOL

Re: 'Occupy' types

@OTM: They remind me of this thread:

http://www.thewarpath.net/parking-lo...eneration.html

Only willing to "work" if its doing exactly what they want to do and being paid what they determine is fair. I got a cousin that goes to UPenn and is about to graduate with really fancy sounding double majors. I was talking to her at a wedding and was like what do you want to do and she said go into consulting. I was like don’t you need experience for that?

Im guessing the main issue the protesters have are that concessions, bail outs and handouts are being given to big Wall Street firms. I guess whats really really really confusing to me is why they are protesting Wall Street and not the government?

Remember you can collect unemployment until you find a job YOU want to do. You just need to apply for 2 jobs a week online which can be done while protesting:

Re: 'Occupy' types

Zuccotti Park smelled like an open sewer -- with people urinating and defecating in public.

And some couples have taken advantage of the free condoms distributed by organizers to do the nasty in full view of other protesters.

“It kinda makes me think of what Woodstock must have been like,” said one protester, Sarah, 19 from the Upper West Side.

“I haven’t hooked up with any guys ... but one of my friends did have sex in a tarp with a guy last night.”

The free chow offered to protesters was boosting the crowd.

“People say they are here for the cause, but the real reason is the free food,” quipped Cameron, 26, of Jersey City.

“On my third day, they had smoked salmon with cream cheese. You know how much smoked salmon is a pound? Sixteen dollars. I eat better here than I do with my parents!”

“I got warrants. I’m running from the law,” boasted Dave, 24, a scrawny, unshaven miscreant in filthy clothes from Stamford, Conn. “I’m not even supposed to be here, but it’s as good a spot as any to hide.”

Wanted for burglary, the drug-addled fugitive said some of his hard-partying pals clued him in that the protest was a good place to be fed, get wasted and crash.

“I’ve been smoking and drinking in here for eight days now,” said Dave, booze on his breath and his eyes bloodshot as he lay sprawled on a tattered sheet of cardboard. “I need to get some methadone. Every day, I wake up, and I’m f--ked up.”

Drugs can be easy to score -- a Post reporter was offered pot for $15 and heroin for $10.

im currently looking for a new job closer to home.

ive been down to the HR dept in baltimore, about 3 blocks from the occupy baltimore, there are a ton of good paying jobs through the city and state. i also go to the maryland state and balt city websites.

alot of these 30-55k jobs dont require anything more than a GED, 1-2 years of accredited college or some basic background in HVAC, plumbing etc.

hell you can be an absolute complete idiot with zero experience and make about 32k right now as a cashier at the clerks office in the courthouse. be a compliance officer, a correctional officer making 45k a year, a police officer starting around 50k . . . . park ranger making 42k . .

im kinda limited b/c i need to find a job in the legal field but if i didnt have to find a job as an atty i easily could be making a comfortable living do something with a HS diploma.

edit - FD, the whole point i wanted to make before i went on my rant is i think the same thing every time i pass them. theres a stack of papers with about 100 job openings 3 blocks north of occupy baltimore waiting to pay people money..... i want to grap a stack and start handing them out to them.

double edit - hell, my pregnant lady takes a bus or walks a mile to work part time at 10 bucks an hour! i couldnt be more compassionate to the cause and helping people but cmon man, while maybe a few really do want to change the status qou (which is messed up), most seem like its just something to do and justify living that lazy sleep on the couch lifestyle. DONT BLAME PEOPLE LIKE ME B/C YOU LIKE SLEEPING IN AND HAVING A RESPONSIBILITY FREE LIFESTYLE! ya ****s! enjoy your life and your choices, ill enjoy mine and at the end of the day im not going to blame someone else for the choices i made.

not to take a sarcastic funny comment and totally take your words literally . . . but im going to.

dont they patent as intellectual property and make a ton of money off genetically modified/altered crops.

like i ever so slightly change the strain of corn so that it can grow in rocky soil. or i modify the genetic make up of a grain . .etc. i then patent it and nobody can use it unless they pay me, the man?

there are a million ways to be a billionaire . .why oh why did i spend my college and law school days drunk and stupid?!?
