Also, Sandusky was recruiting for Penn State last year is seems, and since the newsbreak the recruits have been jumping off Penn State's sinking ship.

It makes sense to keep him protected, not only from the "mob" enraged by his nonaction but those who don't want his testimony to get them convicted, i.e Sandusky, Schultz, etc.

He was VP of Finance and also oversaw Human Resources and the University Police

And he had such a distinguished career at Penn State that a couple of months ago they named a child care center after him....sigh

Jon Ritchie gives a emotional breakdown of his relationship with Sandusky and even says that knowing Sandusky the way he did, he probably would have reacted the same way as McQueary initially due to the shock factor.

He then goes on to say that once it sunk it, that's when he would have taken it to the proper authorities or at least followed up once his superiors did nothing.
And to me, that's where McQueary f'ed up. Yes - we all like to think we would have kicked the sh** out Sandusky. I certainly hope I would have - but, as SCP said, walking in on something so shocking, I just don't know what I would have done. I may have been stunned into inaction for some short time - maybe even a long time. At some point within the next 24 hours, though, the police AND Paterno would have been notified. And, at 28, I guarantee that I would not have had to call Dad first.

McQueary was dead wrong. I can see that right now, right this instant and for any number of reasons it might not be prudent for the school or the police to bust his balls, but, eventually, I hope he gets a full dose of justice.

And what about his dad? I mean why didn't he step in and call the police and say "my son just called me and told me he witnessed..."

And speaking of dads, you're one JoeRedskin. Maybe you could answer my question from earlier in this thread.

His actions could very well be influenced by residual Irish-American cultural values, an emphasis on family being one of them. This is not to excuse his behavior, but rather to make it more understandable why he decided to do what he did.

Not to mention that Sandusky's relationship with him had far greater deal of closeness and trust than a typical player-coach relationship since the families knew each other.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State

Pretty emotional pre-game scene in State College. Seeing all the tears and emotions of the students/fans... I do really feel bad for all loyal Penn State fans/alums/students that had nothing to do with any of this. I know what it's like to love a football program and school with all of your heart like that.

So what intent did we have when he, per his own admission, touched their legs in the shower?

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State

He also earlier admitted to hugging boys while naked and im not sure what kind fo intent you can have there either. But Im kind of glad that he is fighting the charges because otherwise i think he would kill himself, leave a note that said he didnt do it but feels disgraced and in effect take away any fair justice from the victims.

And i think that all of the victims of the most graphic assaults that the witnesses saw (McQuery and the janitors) have never been identified. In fact does anyone know what actual witnesses there are that are also victims and what they allege?

I honestly feel like most victims wouldnt come forward at this point. Can you image keeping the secret that you were raped as a kid and then come out with it to everyone you know in order to be a witness. What if you now live a completely normal life, just imagine how people would now treat you. Plus they say that 50% of all child molesters where molested when they were kids, i would bet some people may even act differently when youre around there kids. Its very sad and an absolutely horrible thing.

How dumb does he think we are?

"I wasn't robbing a bank. I was just standing in the vault with a gun after telling everyone to get their hands up."

What a pile of poop.

And if not such a big deal why wait for the locker rooms to empty out so there's no one there but you and the boy?

Seriously. Admittedly, it seems strange that he's trying to defend himself against such overwhelming odds, because most people in that situation would just admit guilt and hope to try to redeem themselves. It almost seems that by defending himself, he's acting not remorseful at all. And slightly arrogant as well, by saying he was just showering with boys but nothing bad happened.

Which may not be the case, that's just the way it's coming off to me. I just don't see any way in which this could possibly be spinned as a conspiracy theory, or any other dumb shit like that. There's just too many people involved, too many victims, too many witnesses, too long of a period of time, for there to be any coincidence. This guy just screams full fledged predator.

Seriously. Like I said just way too much overwhelming evidence and witnesses for me to believe he's innocent at all. Am I falling into the trap of people who think along the lines of "guilty before proven innocent?" Yes, but this is one case where there's not much doubt. He's got no credibility. And I think he's taking all this the entirely wrong way. It sounds like he's trying to make us believe that he just likes to shower with young boys yet nothing sexual happened. And I feel like only a pedophile would try that defense. Minimizing the damage in a case like this doesn't work. I honestly can't believe he's using the,"Whoa I like to shower with young boys, doesn't mean I'm a perv though" defense.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State

Maybe it is just the entire legal morass that has the participants giving bizarre answers(and will be heard later in court).....but WTF is " I did the right thing.....you guys know me"....
What is that?
"What happened to Oh Hell No...I kicked his ass. That shit will not be allowed to stand as long as I'm around? NO Way No how...not to a kid!"
The morphing quality of the individual stories is getting..........
