Re: ESPN's redskins offseason overview

Excellent post, Schneed10, and not just because I like the conclusion!

No one can reasonably argue that Danny isn't among the best money-men in the NFL. He earns the most, and he's continually avoided the "cap hell" that has plagued teams like the Titans. Coaching stabilty under Gibbs will make the team on the field a contender; cap managment by Danny and co. will keep it intact.

That's why I say leave people to what they're good at. Danny at managing money. The coaches at signing players.

Vinny C always says 'cash equals cap' and who has more cash than Danny Boy? Also don't forget the TV contract goes into effect next year so that is going to be a nice little bump in the cap as well..

so we rework contracts (which only prorate bonus to 2007, not the life of the contact since there's no new agreement) but how do we pay for next years rookies or add players? we'd have no flexibility under that plan.

GREAT post Schneed10...........
I just hope Pasta Belly doesn't read Schneed 10's post.......because Pasta will report it to the league and close any cap loopholes............Why is that Pasta guy obsessed with the Redskins

Anyway, Schneed's post gives me hope and optimism regarding our cap picture.....And hey Dan Snyder isn't so bad afterall, he knows business angles and how to crunch the numbers that's for sure......
