Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread
Apparently you didn't even bother looking at that list I posted. Manningham is so inconsistent and unreliable. Even in that Super Bowl, I'm almost certain he had a couple drops that game.

I had him on my fantasy team I hate that guy! He had so many opportunities to be the man this year and he would drop balls left and right. Cruz stepped up and he was done.

If Hankerson or Paul played with Eli Manning we would be sitting on here discussing signing them instead of Maningham.

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread
I would rather have Manningham then GB for sure. However, neither one are difference makers. Eli is the difference maker on the Giants.

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread
He is restricted. If the Steelers don't franchise him they can still put a high offer sheet on him and get draft pick compensation if a team matches.

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread

"That's the important thing to remember here, Redskins fans. Manning isn't a "fading star" who's past his prime. He was, before his neck injury, playing at as high a level as any quarterback in the league. He got hurt and missed a season. Now, it appears he'll be available again. And if he shows teams he can throw the ball the way he did in 2010, he's a smart short-term investment for a team that needs a quarterback answer now and for the future." "He was, before his neck injury..." That isn't very optimistic sounding. Missing an entire season is pretty significant. Even if he has completely recovered from the surgery, the atrophy of not working out at a high level for a whole season means he is going to take a long time to build back up to the strength he once had. If he shows teams he can throw the ball the way he did in 2010. He most likely won't IMO; at least not that quickly. Even if they neck surgery is fully healed, the nerves have to regenerate and that could mean they have not by the beginning of the upcoming season. Manning will be 36 on Friday, which means by the time he builds back up to his former strength he simply may never be able to play at as high a level as before due to his age. I can foresee him working back up to playing shape this year and playing in 2013 for a season and maybe stretching it to 2014 at the latest. Thoughts? I'd love to hear them as I know many of you have been critical of my negative view towards Peyton coming to the Skins.
