Had my first pair of Vans I ordered out of a skateboarding mag in the 70's. I can remember everyone joking on my ugly shoes and a few years later everyone was starting to wear them. I've probably own more Van then any other brand of shoes.

It was kinda getting me down that I thought I was the only person wearing skateboarding shoes. And a chick at that.
