Re: Worst draft of all time?
The fact that Cleveland blew the #1 overall pick two years in a row should deserve mentioning (Tim Couch and Courtney Brown). I've often wondered why you don't hear more about Tim Couch but people like Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russel and even David Carr live on in infamy.

Re: Worst draft of all time?
That 2009 Denver Broncos draft was awful. The Falcons draft from the same year might have been worse:
1 24 ATL Peria Jerry DT 2011 0 0 0 3 34 15 2.0 Mississippi 2 55 ATL William Moore DB 2011 0 0 2 7 30 100 7 0.5 Missouri 3 90 ATL Christopher Owens DB 2011 0 0 1 5 46 68 3 1.0 San Jose St. 4 125 ATL Lawrence Sidbury DE 2011 0 0 0 2 38 13 5.0 Richmond 5 156 ATL Garrett Reynolds T 2011 0 0 0 0 21 2 North Carolina 5 138 ATL William Middleton DB 2011 0 0 0 3 39 71 2 1.0 Furman 6 176 ATL Spencer Adkins LB 2011 0 0 0 1 24 6 Miami (FL) 7 210 ATL Vance Walker DT 2011 0 0 0 3 42 32 2.0 Georgia Tech The best player on there? Adkins, maybe? William Middleton? William Moore is the only guy who rose to the level of starter from this class for the Falcons. The Falcons might have a dynastic roster if this one draft had been better. Actually, the 2009 Browns draft was pretty awful as well. They got a pro bowler (Alex Mack) in the first, traded down three times to get him, then with the picks they got for trading down, they picked up roster fodder.

Re: Worst draft of all time?
What about the Saints draft back when they traded everything to get Ricky

Re: Worst draft of all time?
No member of the 2007 Redskins draft class is still with the team in 2012. Only other teama where that's the case: Rams, Raiders, Bears, Bills, Colts, and Patriots. Though I suppose if you wanted to count Lorenzo Alexander (UDFA) as part of that "draft."
Although that's nothing compared to the fact that the Colts and Jaguars no longer have anybody from their 2008 draft left on their roster. Other bad draft hauls: 2008 Jaguars 2008 Chargers 2008 49ers 2010 Colts 2009 Cowboys On a side note, the Eagles seem to have a tendency to make late round finds that end up having great success elsewhere. Perhaps that's just because of the NFL's tendency to pay more attention to waiver claims from model organizations like Philly and Pittsburgh than they are with our cuts.

Re: Worst draft of all time?
Worse draft in recent memory has to be the 2009 Raiders. They take Heyward-Bey over Crabtree basically because Bey ran a much faster 40. They could have easily traded down and gotten their guy middle to late first round. Maybe even the second.
Then they take Micheal Mitchell in the second round, a guy projected to be at best a mid round pick, and in some cases was projected to be an UDFA. And all because he had 4.3 measurables. Their saving grace appears to be that the Bears might have been interested in using a 3rd round pick on him. He's an okay player but he was way overdrafted. Basically right now they're getting Reed Doughty level production, if that, from their second round pick. Another one in retrospect was actually a pretty solid draft but on draft day it looked terrible. The 2003 Cardinals traded down from the 6th pick in the draft passing on bust Jonathan Sullivan and Byron Leftwich as well as pro bowlers Jordan Gross, Kevin Williams, Terrell Suggs, and Marcus Trufant who went in picks 8-11. They got two first rounders out of the deal from New Orleans which initially looked really good until they drafted Calvin Pace and Bryant Johnson. Both were projected by experts to be late 2nd to 3rd round picks. Of course they both went on to be solid players but on draft day it looked terrible. They were able to soften the initial blow by drafting Boldin in the second round.
