There are bad apples in every walk of life. There are criminals at every level, look at Ebbers who just got 25 years for the WorldCom scandal (about damn time they started giving these white collar guys some hard time).

No joke - I was at MCI when the Worldcom merger happened, and that guy was shady from day one.

That said, Ebbers, etc. committed crimes of greed, which I think are easier for us to understand than crimes of violence. Obviously I am not justifying what happened at Worldcom or Enron - I'm just saying that we don't see CEOs getting busted for misdemeanor assaults very often, and we rarely see an NFL player get busted for embezzlement.
