This move by Obama is straight pandering to hispanic voters, nothing more. A year ago Obama told La Raza that he couldn't do this without Congress....but in an election year funny how stuff gets done.

Also, by Obama Admin stats border apprehensions are down, but apprehensions go down when ICE and BP agents are told to minimize arrests or are not deployed to high traffic areas.

Obama Administration Statistics on Illegal Immigration Are Misleading

You're a smart guy, use the #1 rule of thumb; "follow the money". Check the last part of the link: "As further proof that illegal immigrants aren’t leaving America, “Statistics from the Bank of Mexico, that country’s largest bank, showed that remittances totaled $3.29 billion in January and February, up 7.9 percent over the same period last year. Remittances to Mexico are on a pace to total about $19.7 billion this year, according to the recent reports.”

Again this isn't the same as DREAM Act and he didn't legalize immigration. He didn't grant immunity, there's no path to citizenship, and doesn't grant legal status to anyone. So what's your problem with it?

Once again, any form of comprehensive immigration has to go through Congress. Obama's been pushing DREAM for a couple of years now and it failed in the Senate by 5 votes. The Republican party largely opposed it.

Yes, we have members of our Armed Forces, right now, that fear being deported after being discharged. Why not grant them work permits now until we sort this out? If you defend this country, you shouldn't have to fear being deported.

Seems like you're against it just to be against it.
What is the basis for this claim? The only way an undocumented service member gets the boot is if they commit a crime before they become a citizen.

You serve, you get a green card and path to citizenship, you don't commit a crime and you will end up a citizen. Seems reasonable.

He has been trying to pass the Dream Act forever and doing exactly what Ronald Reagan did which is find a good solution to a difficult problem.

Pandering is what politicians do and on that note I give you Romney speaking at NAACP convention this year.

Yes, the basis is for a crime but it can be for something as petty as weed.

Yeah the whole Obama's playing politics and pandering excuse is weak as hell. Even if it's true, he didn't just jump up last weak and starting talking about the DREAM Act. He's been pounding the drum for a solid two years now.

Truth is Romney and the Repubs could have done their part to shape legislation. They've squandered a huge opportunity to garner their share. Good for Obama, good for Dems, and good for the country.

Pandering & politics is what this is, pure and simple. If Obama really cared about the immigration issue and wasn't using this as election year leverage (his order expires in two years), why not let Rubio, who can bridge the gap between anti-immigration conservatives and the Hispanic community make this work with long term policy/law. He could sign it into law and still take credit.

This will turn out to be another miscalculation by Obama as there won't be a bump in the Latino vote percentages because of this in Nov. They'll stay where they are and I expect Romney will actuall close the gap in the Latino vote by Nov.

If you really cared about the truth you would know Obama did exactly that back in December 2010 and the bill died when it was filibuster by senate Republicans.

Rubio may not have been there for the vote but it's hard to imagine the result would be any different this time around given that a) there are more Republican senators, b) it was 5 votes short last time time and c) there has been plenty of time since then to introduce another bill and put it to a vote. The GOP is all cattle and no hat when it comes to the Dream Act and since all it takes to kill anything is 41 Republican senators it highly unlikely that Rubio is going to make a dent.

It is time for those Republican Senators and the GOP stop whining, man-up and eat their dog food.

So Mitt's not sure when he worked for Bain Capital, huh? Won't release his taxes.

He's in a serious pickle.
