Perhaps her eHow job description needs to be updated, or maybe she isnt qualified for her eActual job description, who knows. But to ignore something that may be an actual issue is just good old fashion ignorant. I wonder if these a-hole kids were terrorizing other kids on the bus or if she was the only one to ever be prayed upon by these kids. And if others were attacked I wonder if she ever did anything to protect others from being bullied? Actually, never mind, eHow doesnt say anything about reporting bullying to school administration.....

Re: Bus Monitor Gets Bullied
I also need to stick up for FD here. I agree with his assesment. If she's not able to handle the abuse herself, then she's probably not protecting the children on the bus that need the protection of the bus monitor. Bullying has really come to the forefront now, and it should be controlled and punished -- but we need someone with more authority and a stronger constitution than this woman.
So often I feel like we see people in jobs they don't have the skillset or disposition to handle and we feel bad for them. I doubt she was actually doing her job as a bus monitor correctly. If these are the people we have protecting the kids, no wonder bullying has gained more attention in recent years.

Re: Bus Monitor Gets Bullied
Some of you guys need to back up and understand that these state workers aren't allowed to really do anything to the children. This isn't like the old days when you could be snatched up by the collar and drug to the principal's office. Those days are long over. Ask any teacher or school worker and they'll tell you that they are pretty much handcuffed as to what they can do. That's why you see law enforcement officers stationed at schools now.
My point to FD was that you don't know what her description is and what her job entails so to act like she isn't qualified or isn't doing her job is a bit presumptuous. Also FD, she did qualify based on that description I posted. It says you have to deal with them, it doesn't say you have authority to do anything about them or give you the right to forcefully settle the kids down.

On top of that they have been suspended for 1 yr. What they did was wrong but suspended for a year is crazy.
