I agree with your first point, but I also feel this story is mostly media-driven since we're in a slow news cycle. It's standard athlete-speak as far as I'm concerned. Not once have I ever heard an athlete come out publicly and say negative things about his team. Generally you can lump players opinions into 3 categories:

1. I think we can make the playoffs.
2. I think we can win the Super Bowl
3. I think we can be a dynasty.

Vick just chose the most extreme of the 3.
