Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
I didn't get to see the game because I was at work, but got to follow the absolutely atrocious gamecast on espn mobile...
That being said...I thought we would lose this one. Without going into THE injury, or coaching, or anything like that (because I only saw highlights) We are an average team, that got beat by an above average team... The promising thing about this, though, is that we are finally an average team. For quite some time now, we have been a below average team. We need to get healthy, and in sync. And to go further (and this might be for another thread in a day or 2), but I see us taking the Vikings next week. Even though this was a loss.......they are gonna go hard at Minnesota next week. I'm not Vegas, but I would bet on it. |

If you were watching the game you would have seen there was alot that would lead you to believe that we could very well have won if RGIII wasn't lost.

Whatever you want to call it, he's a quick learner. I think he'll adjust.

I didn't think the redskins played badly today at all, but when you play up to your potential once every four weeks, you tend not to do yourself any favors when you run into tough circumstances. The Falcons just keep making good personnel moves year after year (though I'm still not sure about the Jones trade).
Defense looked good today and didn't really struggle in the second half like they did in the saints game. Coaching was not a major liability today, which was cool. Well, Cousins being the no. 2 over Grossman may be a questionable decision, but this was a bed we made on draft day instead of during this practice week.

Cousins can't really be graded today. Now if he starts vs Minnesota....

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Garcon is good when healthy. Coaching staff, in my opinion, is holding RG3 back. RG3 needs to learn to run out of bounds instead of getting killed. I expect a fine to the player who hit him in the helmet...

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Here is a question for you guys, if RGIII cant play next week (most of us have a feeling he will) would you start Rex or Kirk?
Rex may be capable of playing one good game. or not...... lol

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
VT-
On that play I actually thought there was a lane straight up field before he rolled so far out to try to find a receiver. Also agree with you on a fine and I am a little surprised there wasn't a flag... but oh well I think it could have gone easily one way or the other with the unnecessary roughness call not a big deal to me.

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Not letting him air it out. I'll be specific. RGIII seems to have most downfield success in spread formations. I understand the want to run the ball with Morris but, Morris is just as good running from singleback formations as he his from the I.
