I'm really not sure what this article is trying to say.

So sequels are bad... but then they say "To be fair, sequels are a stock-in-trade of the industry."

I have no problem buying a new Madden each year. It's a new season, so naturally fans want a new game.

Alot of people complain that it's just a roster update year to year with little wholesale changes. I don't know about most people, but that's what I like. I don't want an entirely different game every year. I want to be able to pop in the new game and pretty much pick right up where I left off with the previous year's game. I like the updated rosters and minor changes that enhance the game.

Imagine if each year it was totally different, with different graphics and gameplay? That would be a nightmare.
