Your reputation doesn't lend itself to that being a sarcastic comment

NC Skins-technically we got Niles Paul as well in the deal and JL is in the plans for next year

Brown should not be blamed. He's tried to get onto the field.

As for his acquisition, it was kind of a high risk/high reward thing from the beginning. Unfortunately we got the risk part of that deal. If he had gotten healthy, as was surmised at his acquisition, we would have a kick-ass offensive line right now.

We won more with Vinny

Well, it stands to reason. This was a Vinny Cerratto kind of move by Shanahan. You don't trade away a 3rd round pick for an injured player. The trade for Brown was in my opinion worse than the trade Ceratto made for Jason Taylor.

You are not accounting for the fact that both Washington and New Orleans thought that his health might improve. Your current 20/20 hindsight was not available when we got Brown.

What matters is the end result. Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan could have used that 3rd round pick to draft a RT. Brown was/is a great offensive lineman but he is equivalent to an old man who needs a hip replacement. I get tired of reading about this guy's injured hip. I don't blame Shanahan for making the trade but if Brown had health issues at the time Shanahan was talking to the Saints, he should have considered giving the Saints a lower draft pick since it was in exchange for an ailing player. A third rounder was too much to give away.

Shanny did just what you said. The original asking price for Brown, a Pro Bowler at the time, was a first and a third. Shanny got Brown for less than that.
