Do shirts have thread counts like sheets?

Sorry, I figured if we were talking about the family forgiving him, there was no way this story was out there. When they read that story I cant imagine them forgiving him.

Because that story as I believe Panda pointed out was one ladies take on what she saw. Her version was more news worthy and gave her 15 minutes of fame.

Re: Cowboys DT charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter

I'm gonna throw this out there.

Why is it so bad to have a tiny sliver of compassion for someone who ACCIDENTALLY killed a friend? What he did was make a tragic, horrible, and terrible decision and he'll pay the rest of his life for it but why does he deserve outright disgust? I'm not saying he should be excused in any way but I would hope decent people could find a small glimmer of compassion here. How does hating the guy make anything better? Brown is still dead either way. If it just makes you feel better or superior then I feel sorry for you too.

Also, I can't help but think that the opinion might be a bit different if these weren't Dallas Cowboys players.
I would hope that wouldn't be a consideration. I understand the circumstances were different, but Cowboys fans were nothing but sympathetic and classy after STs murder.

It takes a big person to forgive or at least have some empathy in a situation like this, sadly most folks aren't up to the task.

First off..Excellent post FRPLG.
I agree Matty. Having empathy for someone doesn't mean you condone what they've done. Some seem to take it that way. We've all made mistakes.....a lot of us were fortunate enough to not have the same consequences for our mistakes as others.

I agree for compassion with anybody in that situation. But I hope he goes to jail for a long time. 2nd DUI? He clearly isnt perfect, or smart for that matter.

According to this site, the range of punishment is 2-20 years, although probation is an option as long as the the convict serves 120 days in jail.

Intoxication Manslaughter in Texas, Jail Time, Fine, and Punishment

This Brents 2nd offense, and a judge could choose to make an example out of him. However, i would imagine his contrition, the fact that the victim was his best friend, and victims family seems to have forgiven him could make a judge more likely to show some leniency.

lets hope so, he deserves a 3rd shot. After all we are not perfect, we all make these type of mistakes. Maybe next time its one of your family members or me, he gets a do over cause its his bestie. It makes sense.

So if someone commits a crime twice, they should be locked up forever? You do realize that murderers, rapists and pedophiles get out of prison in only a few years all the time. We should let more of them out so that we can keep people convicted of DWIs behind bars forever?

Based on limited available evidence, Brent is truly remorseful for his actions. I doubt he will ever drink and drive again. I mean, if you were driving drunk and killed your best friend in the whole world, probably watched him die, would you drink and drive again?

I don't have a problem with them throwing the book at him for his third DUI I have a problem with them charging him with killing Brown. He got in the car on his own knowing Brent had been drinking and was drunk. That's what I have a problem with.
