Walt Disney Company to acquire LucasFilm, release new StarWars in 2015

LOVE the hire. The biggest problem with the prequel trilogy was that the characters just werent compelling. If i hadnt seen the original trilogy and known that anakin grew up to be darth vader, or that ewan mcgregor would grow up to to be alec guiness, or that padme was leias mom, i wouldnt have given a crap about the movies. The dialog was horrible. the acting was bland.

JJ will fix that. Look at what he did with the MI franchise. It was dead, but he made it exciting, whitty, and fun again with MI3 and 4 (yes, i know he didnt direct 4, but he produced and oversaw it). He did hte same thing with star trek. The franchise had become so ridiculously oversaturated and stale. Yet, he took on the challenge of rebooting the franchise with the geekiest fans in history. William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and Deforest Kelly were pop culture ICONS for 40 years. Imagine what a disaster it could have been. But he casted the PERFECT actors to replace those iconic characters, brought life into the defunct franchise, and, most importantly, made it FUN again.

There's no reason to doubt that he wont do the same for Star Wars. Bye bye Manequin Skywalker, emotionless obiwan, and a horribly cheesy, cringe-worthy love story with Padme. No more stilted dialog. No more completely digital sets. We'll have a fun and exciting adventure story with characters who actually have chemistry with one another. I cannot wait for this movie. It probably wont come out until 2016, but it will be worth the wait.
