Re: Darrelle Revis is up for trade per Jets owner
yeah, and once again, no to revis. he wants TONS of money, that's why the jets are letting him go. we don't have tons of money and don't need someone that's going to spend all of his time arguing about how his contract isn't big enough.
I expect a FA period full of 2nd tier signings. we'll get one of the top 4 TEs, a good DB of some kind and maybe 1 of the two or so reasonable RT upgrades or a 2nd DB. everyone else is either going to be a project, a diamond in the rough, or an average/replaceable player unless we can convince someone good to take a cheap one year deal. |

Re: Darrelle Revis is up for trade per Jets owner
Here is my question on Darrelle Revis..... could he not be another big money FA like Deion Sanders was when he came here like 10 years ago? You know, the guys the Redskins use to sign for too much money that never produced or always got hurt? I say let someone else have Revis.

Hey hey hey leave the puppies out of it. Besides you posted the most heart felt comment in the puppy thread. You probably should have stretched your thoughts out though its only January.

Re: Darrelle Revis is up for trade per Jets owner
"Schefter suggests a trade: Alex Smith and a second round 49ers pick to the Jets for Darrelle Revis," tweeted Jane McManus of ESPNNewYork.com.
Maybe a little too much gumbo? In any event, the 49ers are one of the teams that has the cap space flexibility to afford Revis (both in 2013 and beyond), and getting Smith's $8.5 million off the books would help in that regard. As for the Jets, they'd have another highly-drafted QB on the roster to go along with Mark Sanchez, and as ESPN's Chris Sprow points out, that'd be around $21 million in 2013 cap hit for the combined services of Smith and Sanchez, which would be amongst the most "Jets" things the Jets have done in recent history. Revis would be great, but he isn't really an option. How about drafting David Amerson from NC State?
