That's a funny story; seems like a really nice family. I did a lot of partying on Fairfield Beach Road where this incident occurred; lots of good times, lots of pissed off locals, never saw anyone get his skull cracked open with a bottle though.

It doesn't matter who started it. The majority of the league agreed to it. Goodell signed off on it. Mara dished it out.... then ran his mouth about how we got lucky and should have been docked worse. Shaft them all. Hold up Free Agency. Scare the crap out of the league that they could possibly lose their freedom and might fall under federal regulations and possibly be forced to pay both teams as well as the NFLPA a monitary sum to include damages.

Right now yeah the league would win, why? cause of unwritten agreements, rights signed away, and autonomy. Let it get to the right court where none of these apply and see how the league colluded against the players (illegal), bribed the NFLPA to agree to the punishements or lose money (illegal), punished both teams with out taking the topic to the owners meeting first and allowing the two teams to explain why they did what they did and why they should not be punished.
