That's right - they both had six a piece.

I really think we should stick with what we've got in the middle. Realistcally, what are the Skin's chances of signing Simon, and more importantly who would be the out man??

like i said before, Noble himself says he's rusty, and in his case it's probably actual rust on his metal knee. oh, you mean salary wise? TUPA!

How much more would Simon cost than let's say Courtney Brown whom we couldn't sign??

I think he would cost significantly more. Brown signed an incentive-laden deal since he's been consistently on IR or the PUP list. Simon is a Pro-Bowler, albeit an overrated one, and will want signifcant amounts of guaranteed money. There's certainly a better market for Simon than there was for Brown (even at this point in the year); the Ravens and Packers are just two, of probably about six to ten teams interested in acquiring Simon. I cannot, under any circumstances, imagine Simon getting less guaranteed money than $8 million and he'll probably command a lot more money than that.

I just can't see us signing this guy unless we do some serious cap manuevering and shifting some personnel around. And since we have more of a need for a pass rusher I don't know how the Skins would begin to justify signing him.

Avoid him like the plague. He'd mess with chemistry, doesn't know the defense, clearly has an over valued opinion of himself, and is probably not in game shape. Plus I am always wary of a Philly castoff. They are known for not retaining players but how many of those "lost players" have gone on to do anything anywhere else? Not for the skins. The last thing our defense needs is a major change of personell.

That was the going rumor. It was actually some unnamed "defensive talent" on the Philly roster that was to be traded, but Simon makes the most sense. I don't have cap sheets in front of me, but if moving Davenport and Ferguson freed up $1 million (a guess), a creative GM could sign someone multi-year to a "big" deal.
