Landry's due to be productive, because he has done nothing but regress since his rookie year. I want to see the player who popped Kevin Curtis at the end of the Monday nighter at Philly to seal a big road victory in 2007.

I think this year is an opportunity for Landry to show that he has grown up. Maybe being rumored to have been mentioned in the McNabb trade talks gave him a bit of a wake up call.

Landry also said he played where he was told. But he said FS takes patience and he plays with a more aggressive nature. I just like the fact that they will move people around and disguise things better.

Depressing. He coached average to poor defenses on bad teams.

Roster moves:

Released:
RB PJ Hill
RB Anthony Alridge
WR Marko Mitchell
WR James Robinson
DT Anthony Montgomery

Really, Marko Mitchell is the only real suprising one on this list, if only because his skill set fits Shanahan's system. Everyone else was pretty expendable.

Not surprised at all about Mitchell being released. I fully expected it, though not this soon.

No surprise on PJ Hill. Didn't even know we had James Robinson, don't even know who he is. Montgomery is mildy surprising, but once the Rams didn't take him in the Carriker deal it was pretty apparent he was gone.

Pretty surprised about Alridge though.

Marko was just another training camp hero it seems. Sigh.

I am surprised by 3 of these...Alridge, Mitchell, & Monty I would have thought at least made it to training camp. Alridge surprised me the most becasue now in my mind we have no one for that change of pace back role, unless your of the belief that CP or WP are regaining their lost burst.

In find Alridge's release to be surprising, period. Monty's release is surprising to happen so soon.

Now Torain is the Redskin for whom I am most rooting.

Yeah I'm definitely pulling for Torain as well, but I would have liked to see both Torain and Alridge make it.

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)

wonder why we made these cuts now. one would think we'd atleast give mitchell an aldridge an opportunity to compete in the next camp.

regarding torrian, i think he's got a shot. considering none of portis, parker, and johnson play special teams, i cant see how we would keep all three of them. seems smarter to me to keep the best two of them and then a younger, change-of-pace-type back who can contribute to special teams.

Advanced age (he's 25) vs experience level, they were going to need to make a decision on him: get him his reps or get him out of there so someone else could get those reps. If he wasn't in the plans, no reason to take him to camp.

Of course, I don't really see any signs of a general plan on offense, so I'll refrain from saying this is a good move.
