NFL Videos: Bruce Allen on set

Bruce Allen had some good insights on the draft, and yes in case you all already didn't know we have interviewed Sam Bradford.

Trading down is easier said than done. Thats why if we get Dunta Robinson we can get rid of rogers for a 2nd or 3rd pick hopefully. Its all speculation, 1000 things could happen. I would just like to see Hardesty in the Burgandy and Gold. Have Portis and him pounding the rock 15-20 times, tire out a defense then Alridge come in, change of pace, blow by defenders. That backfield would be MONEY!

Yeah, Trade down is starting to become the new vet min, and since the vet min is practically dead without the salary cap you will start to see an influx of cries for us to trade down. Until a rookie pay scale is implemented it will be very difficult to trade down. Maybe we could do it, but it's doubtful that we could pull it off.

Love the idea of Duanta Robinson, and the 2nd & 3rd for Rogers. As RB goes, i think that Ben Tate from Auburn is a great fit for this offense...One cut guy, a real bruiser, and hes got the speed to break the long run... he ran a (4.43 40yrds)and a 4.12 20yrd shuttle second best of all the backs

Re: 2010 Combine

A lot of the Olinemen who are top 10 perfomers in the 3-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle are also all pretty big in terms of weight as well, Bruce Campbell being one of them. I have a feeling Shanahan may pick a couple from those lists in the draft.

Re: 2010 Combine

I just want to make a prediction and say Derrick Morgan will be this years Brian Orakpo. A guy that should be the first DE taken but ends up getting leaped frogged by uber-athlete Piere-Paul.

Re: 2010 Combine

Taylor mays ran a 4.24 unofficial 40 yd dash, Eric Berry ran a 4.40, and Haden struggled with a 4.6. I don't know maybe Berry is the guy to get.

Mays's main "problem" was he isn't able to roam all over the field as FS.. Or at least that's what I read on NFL.com.. I have to believe, after Mays showed he can run.. Coaches would have to change their opinions on Mays.. Mays's other problem is covering the coverages, which is something that can be taught..

Edit: But yes, I agree with you.. Berry is still the man to get..

Wtf?

Per ESPN Insider:
Tebow's landing spot 6:20PM ET
Tim Tebow | Interested: Redskins?, Vikings?, Packers?, Bears?, Lions?, Rams?, 49ers?, Bills?, Raiders?, Broncos?, Colts?, Browns?, Jaguars?, Patriots?

Tim Tebow's name is arguably one of the more controversial right now following his showmanship at the combine this weekend. The feeling is that once he gets to the NFL, it will take some time for him to develop into a viable starter, if it happens at all. In order to help this transition along, Tebow is getting a head start with an impressive cast of coaches, according to NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Tebow has already begun to adjust his mechanics, but he won't unveil them until his pro day on March 17. One member of that cast, former NFL head.....blah blah blah

Important part:
Tebow's chances, by division

  • AFC West: Possible for Denver, Oakland.
  • AFC South: Low possibility all around.
  • AFC North: Little chance he winds up here.
  • AFC East: Bills and Pats might snag No. 15.
  • NFC West: Niners and Rams have QB uncertainty, medium chance of Tebow in 2010.
  • NFC South: Highly unlikely to join Brees and Ryan.
  • NFC North: all four teams could have some interest.
  • NFC East: Redskins might make a serious play.

Mays also looked stiff in the change of direction drill where a coach holds a football in the direction they want the DB to backpedal then after which they turn around and play a ball. Mays missed a direction change and wasn't able to locate a ball in the air. Mays 40 time is now offically listed a 4.4. Keep on thikning he would make a hell of a will.
