Yup it sure is. One of my favorite movies ever. I saw it like 5 times in the theater. It reminded me of Dead Rising (Xbox360 game) so much. Epic.

Re: Guard watches coast for oil slick's first wave

A mod maybe could change the thread title, but as of 8:44 AM, the US Coast Guard is reporting that the "top kill" operation has been a success. They said a second ship will soon begin pumping cement in the well to finish off the wellhead for good.

This is great news guys....

Good news but at the same time it's hard to get too cheery about it. Now there's the tremendous mess to clean up.

Gulf of Mexico oil spill called worst in U.S. history - CNN.com

Great that they blocked it...but I think they waited so they could overtake Exxon as Number 1

You know a DEM has FU when James Carville talks about you. Foward this to aroun the 2:00 section and see James go off on Obama. He is saying what I have been saying for several weeks.

I still don't understand what Obama would do that would make the operation any better. The gov't would still need to rely on BP for their equipment and technical knowledge.

Re: Guard watches coast for oil slick's first wave

I love Carville, but he's out there sometimes. The minute Obama pushed BP out of the way, every Tom, Dick, and Harry would have been on TV spewing non-sense about he's intruding on private industry and it's a government takeover.

If Carville or anyone else had the answer, this thing would have been plugged a long time ago. I guess Obama just wanted to have the worst oil spill in history on his watch. Makes perfect sense.

Thats right. I just said we could have brought in some more people who might be able to offer more ideas on how to stop the leak. The good news is I had to use the words "could have". Hell I bet Obama shows up tommorrow acting like he helped shut down the leak. Its nice he could even take the time to stop on his way to his vacation.

YouTube - Oil Spill in Alaska 2010 & 1979 Rachel Maddow

Comparing thespill stopping technicques of 1979 to 2010 same attemtps same technology. Top hat was called Sombrero in 79. Check it out. Rachel Maddow and Cavuto are my two favorite talking heads.

So the White House was just sitting by idly and didn't offer ANY ideas? They didn't send anyone to the gulf region? No input from the president --- at all? You sure you got your facts straight on this?

And you know this is Obama's second visit to the area since the incident happened, right? I dunno, should the White House just relocate to the gulf and set up a 24/7 operation?

You still haven't said, exactly, what you want the president to do?

He wants the president to come under the same type of liberal biased media bashing Bush came under for Katrina. He wants Kanye West to say Obama doesn't like the environment. Look, no Americans dying in waste deep water. My cousin sat in a rig for 4 days waiting to bring water to the N.O.

I did alot of research on this as well, and what was shocking is that the technology is still essentially the same, save for different terminology. The Top Hat or Dome, humorously being called Sombrero in 1979...

That was a very good piece from her that was on last night. Other then that she is a twitt. She never has anyone on her show with a different point of view only people who agree with her. That makes really great TV viewing.
