And now no one will get the chance to see if it ever would have worked. I'm just glad we aren't participating in the coach Spurrier experiment anymore! (Actually, Daseal, I think Spurrier would have figured it out eventually. It killed him to have the least experienced coaching staff around him. But enough about OBC. Gibbs has none of his problems, and is also a gold-plated football genius.)
Never undersetimate a Parcells coached team. He finds ways to win, and to get the best out of his players and coaches. They have the #1 ranked D. And they don't need Carter to win them games, really; rather, he just can't lose them. Fortunately, Gibbs will not underestimate Parcells, and the color blue makes him sick.

The Cowgirls will still be good, especially on defense, but with Gibbs back and Coughlin in NY, the division just got a lot tougher. Parcells is good, but they will be very lucky to go 10-6 again, let alone better.
I expect a tight 3-team race between the Skins, Cows, and Eagles....with the Skins pulling it out, of course! |

Kinda hard to learn a system when there isn't a playbook, LOL
Helton wasn't a great line coach but it all can't fall on him. Spurrier's system just wasn't designed to properly block against an NFL defense. NFL defensive coordinators had that offense figured out in no time. I can only imagine the laughter coming from the opposing team filmroom as they gameplanned for the fun 'n' gun. |

correct me if I'm wrong but Spurrier set it up so every coach took care of their portion of the game plan. IE Helton setup the blocking schemes, D coordinator did all the D schemes. He did the Offense, etc. Which means when you'd see guys blocking the same guy it was on Helton, not Spurrier. Either way, I think it takes time to learn. His offense clicked a few times last year, and it did wonders, but we couldn't get it on a consistant basis.
No doubt it needed tweaking, but he was starting to come around. |
