I think it's actually important that the O-line is trying to forge their own identity, and not trade on past Bugel/Gibbs success. These guys aren't the Hogs - we'd be doing both them and the Hogs of the glory days a disservice by calling them that. As for the name "Dirtbags", Jon Jansen isn't going to be allowed to show up on the Draft Room set in Brooks Brothers shorts anymore with a name like that, but it's a small price to pay.

If the Hogs are gone, what will the people that wear the dresses and the hogs nose do? I dont care for it.

No matter what happens people will always refer to the Redskins offensive line as The Hogs, it's a nickname that won't be shaken that easy.

The Hoggettes!

The Hoggettes get as much air time on TV as the Redskin mascot, so it looks like Hogs already has a pigfoot up.

Well, I sure wish they would stick with the HOGS!!! But then, I guess that's obvious, isn't it?? LOL I've been using this name for at least 16 years in all my fantasy leagues!!

"Dirtbagskin" doesn't have quite the same ring to it, does it?

Its a good name, because it conveys an attitude to aspire to, like "hogs" or scrub.

Sorry but I don't like the name. I was in the Marines for 17 years and a dirtbag was someone that didn't pull their weight and no one wanted anything to do with them. I hope Matty and some of the others are right and once they start showing their stuff, they'll be the hogs again!!!

I dont like the name either. I dont think they should have a name unless Bugel thinks they are worth enough to be called Hogs. That or just call them Hogs because they are under Bugel. I didnt know about the milltary meaning behind it, thats good to konw. Mabye he does think they are dirtbags in teh way you described it now, and then once they gel and perform he will call them hogs.
