The new hogs, The 'Dirtbags'?

http://washingtontimes.com/sports/20...1554-6723r.htm

Not quite as catchy as The Hogs, but hey, if they resemble The Hogs on the field I don't care what they call them.

Some nice praise for Dockery here, definitely good news.

Quote:
Perhaps no player has impressed coaches and teammates more than Dockery, last year's third-round draft pick who was forced into the lineup after starting left guard Dave Fiore injured his knee in September. Dockery, a 6-foot-6, 345-pound behemoth of a 23-year-old, understandably struggled. He was soft-spoken, timid and looked like he wasn't ready to handle the complexities of the pro game.

Quietly, though, Dockery progressed as the year went on. And as he embarks on his second season, plenty of people have noticed how much he has matured.

"I thought Dock did well his first year. He made some simple rookie mistakes out there, but everybody makes those," said Samuels, who has taken Dockery under his wing. "Now he's taking a veteran approach to things, even though he's not a vet yet. He's definitely growing up."

I have a great feeling that the talent up front will turn into something special this year.

These guys will blaze trails for Portis, and insure that whoever is back there throwing passes, will have more than ample time.

I think they're also going to have a great effect on the defense, as with them beating the crap out of the opposing defense, you can expect 5-7 minute long drives that keeps our d fresh.

to be honest, I don't really care what they are called, as long as they are clearing the holes for a 2000 yard season..

I'm glad to hear that Doc is showing up well. He was a hell of lot of talent and his play did really improve. If he can drop about 10 pounds and keep that power with a bit more mobility he's gonna be a player.

Does it matter what Joe Bugel calls them? If they have a good first few games under Gibbs, they will be the hogs, they dont really have a choice

Call the Portis' bitches for all I care, as long as our QB has protection and Portis gets soem small openings to run though. I wouldnt be surprised if Portis breaks a bunch of Redskins rushing records this year.

Some kind soul was nice enough to add a poll and allowed for multiple choices so you can vote for option #4 and whatever other choice you want

The name "dirtbags" doesn't sound as good as the "hogs" but it brings across the idea of no-name guys who do their job in the trenches. I hope they beat the stew out of Dallas this season.
