I think they tell you how to ween yourself off it in the movie Trainspotting:

Relinquishing junk. Stage one, preparation. For this you will need one room which you will not leave. Soothing music. Tomato soup, ten tins of. Mushroom soup, eight tins of, for consumption cold. Ice cream, vanilla, one large tub of. Magnesia, milk of, one bottle. Paracetamol, mouthwash, vitamins. Mineral water, Lucozade, pornography. One mattress. One bucket for urine, one for feces and one for vomitus. One television and one bottle of Valium, which I've already procured from my mother, who is, in her own domestic and socially acceptable way also a drug addict. And now I'm ready. All I need is one final hit to soothe the pain while the Valium takes effect.

...wait, maybe he was talking about heroin.

Au Contraire D65,
I totally agree about Florida. We have many "natives" that take a backseat to nobody on the Hillbilly scale. I think Texas may be worse, but not sure (as I have lived there as well).
Additionally, I spent about 15 years running around Northern W.Va in my youth. Incredible state, and some of the best times of life.
I just could not resist the odd shot

What part did you live in? I lived in Shepherdstown, right on the panhandle.

Scherr area, about 20 miles Northwest of Romney. Pretty remote area. We had a little farm (100 acres) we leased out, but I spent a hell of a lot of time up there.

Here's a tip...begin the practice of making yourself put the ciggy out on your forehead whenever you get weak and have one. You'll get sick of that pretty quickly.

yeah i mean i guess it would teach me that putting out a cig on my face is about as dumb as smoking is anyway, but i already know that so i think ill lay off the face for now cuz someday this face is gonna pay the bills....
