Re: Did Gibbs 12-Man Challenge Make Up 4 The Timeout In Buffalo?
Yes it absolutely did...though I was bummed about the buffalo call...Taylor just died...and they would have lost anyways...this call was beautiful....only one that was better was when westbrook decided not to score last week at the 1 to run out the clock

Re: Did Gibbs 12-Man Challenge Make Up 4 The Timeout In Buffalo?
I don't think that makes up for the assanine mistake against Buffalo, but it was a pretty darn cool challenge that took momentum away from the Vikes and sealed a victory.
Kudos to Gibbs. Way to get the team motivated after the loss to Buffalo. Last 3 games have been pretty comprehensive victories for us. Collins has been solid and the D has been pretty good as well. |

The Buffalo call didn't guarantee that Buffalo would have missed the FG, nor did challenging today mean that Minnesota was definitely going to continue scoring to take the lead.

Re: Did Gibbs 12-Man Challenge Make Up 4 The Timeout In Buffalo?
I think both calls were not his initally. Obviously someone in the booth saw the 12th man and brought it to his attention. As far as the time out, I don't know for sure (and am sure you guys will let me know) but I can't believe Joe would make that kind of a mistake. He took the heat but just can't believe he would make that kind of a mistake.
I am with a previous poster...the Buffalo game is in the past. Last nights challenge took the wind out of the Vikings sails and locked up a game for the ages against the Cow-wussies. |

That sealed the game right there. It was pretty tense until that whole thing got resolved, after that I knew we had this thing bagged.

Bills game happened right after Taylor's death so NO ONE was thinking properly during that time. BUT....today......He saved OUR SEASON

Re: Did Gibbs 12-Man Challenge Make Up 4 The Timeout In Buffalo?
For all the grief that the national media gave Gibbs after trying to ice the Buffalo kicker twice, the media needs to point out the brilliance of this challenge. Retaining posession and punching it in for a TD pretty well clinched the game. Kudos to Gibbs for holding the team together through unbelievable adversity and coaching one of his finest games with everything on the line.

The Buffalo timeout snafu was overblown IMO. Their kicker would have nailed that 2nd kick from 55 as well as he hit that ball.

Great call for the GREAT COACH!
What a GREAT X-MAS gift from my beloved REDSKINS! ONE MORE TIME.....Before the dance starts! IMO there is not a better coach in the entire league that we could have at the helm.

Re: Did Gibbs 12-Man Challenge Make Up 4 The Timeout In Buffalo?
I didn't think you could challenge something like that? Are you allowed to challenge a penalty as well? My assumption at the time was if the ref's missed it to bad. It helped make up for that ridiculous challenge earlier in the game when they took a TD away from Sellars, I am still waiting to see a conclusive replay that actually shows him not in, and to actually over turn the call on the field from anything I saw was a joke.

Re: Did Gibbs 12-Man Challenge Make Up 4 The Timeout In Buffalo?
Instant Replay is still stupid because the trust is that a limited amount of camera angles can dispute an unlimited amount of visual angles from the field.
I mean, it's good when calls get blatently missed, but how often does that happen? For every blatent missed call that gets corrected, you have five Mike Sellers plays. Very adamently, I say, instant replay must go.

Re: Did Gibbs 12-Man Challenge Make Up 4 The Timeout In Buffalo?
gtripp, instant relay is here to stay. i think it was voted on to remain permanent at the last owners meetings. as for the challenge, one word. brilliant. i hope it comes out who made that call. and it was done very fast, too. does everyone here think that Santana Moss was in bounds? i say he dragged his back foot, making it a catch
