Re: The best NFL Team ever?

if im not mistaking the 91 Redskins , i think its something like of their 17 wins, 11 came against teams that had 10 wins or more..

Note...Gmanc said "IF" the Patriots win tomorrow they're "The Greatest" Will they be the greatest if they don't win? Gmanc did you see the Steelers play in the 70's. It will take a lot to convince me of the fact this Patriot team could have beaten the Steelers that went the last six games of one season withoug giving up a touchdown.

Re: The best NFL Team ever?

The Steelers,Raiders and cowpukes from the 70's ,,, the Skins , Bears and 49ers from the 80's were all better than this team . Yes , NE is a great team , this decade and the 07-08 team , but they do not have to get through a playoff format playing great teams like the other great teams . For Madden's Raiders to even get to a SB , they had to beat , Shula's Miami teams and Noll's Steelers , then Beat B. Grant or Landry , much tougher than beating Jarrad's Jags and Norv's depleated Bolts . Watch out for the video camera's ,,,, cheaters ???

You can not compare teams of today to teams of decades ago. the game is different.

Yeah from what i heard they used them cameras against the Rams to film their Pre Game walk through..IF they do win, it should be marked with ************** all around it.

The '91 Skins could hang with any of the supposed greatest teams ever and probably beat almost every one. That was undoubtedly our greatest team.

No doubt, I also like our 83 team except for one little thing, they lost to the Raiders. That team could be up there with the greatest teams ever, the offense set a point scoring record of I think 541 points (been broken twice or three times since by the Vikings, maybe the Rams and Patriots).

I have to wonder now ,, did BB and Parcels start that in the 80's ? It does seem a little strange that the 80' skins with Monk, Clark & Sanders , and the Montana , Rice , Clark, Craig 49ers could score 40 pts at any time , until the played Bill's NYG in the post season ?

Re: The best NFL Team ever?

I think the Pats won 12 games < including playoffs > against Qb's who were 1st year starters this year, I think what the 85 Bears and 86 NYG's did was more impressive . The Bears would have beaten the Jags and Chargers 40 - 0 each . And of course the 87 & 91 Skins would have blown them out as well .

Page 2 did a "10 Greatest Team" list a few years ago, and had the '91 Skins as 4th all time. They had a legendary balance between offense and defense, both of which absolutely dominated. Of course, they didn't garner the attention that other teams usually do when they have a team like that because they appropriated the humility of their coach, and therefore didn't draw attention to themselves.
