Well one thing is for sure. Rock has the heart of a Redskin. If he does not make the team, I can only hope that whoever does has 1/2 as good of an attitude and work ethic as he does. While desire is not enough to make it in this league last year he proved that, even behind the Spurrier blocking scheme fiasco, he can get that tough yard are two when the pressure is on. No dancing, just tough running. I'm pulling for him! :headbange

Don't worry Berg I have enough hair on my ass for the both of us.

I think Rock will be the odd man out, he's to much of a tweener, if we are in need of a big back, Rock isn't the guy, he's undersized, he is not a prototypical big back, and the rest of the back's are faster, which is why I believe he will be cut, I like the guy, I just don't think he fit's in with what we are doing.

It's probably in Sultan McCullough's best interest to be released because he could be a starter for someone and develop into a fine running back. Perhaps he will be traded this week. As a fan, I certainly hope we hold onto him. If we had a period where Portis was injured, I would feel good about McCulllough rising to the occasion as a backup and giving us not just a workmanlike performance, but be a player other teams really have to take into account - or pay the price.

I'm with Shane. The kid's not been injured to my knowledge and he has blazing speed when he gets to use it. Power up the middle might be an issue which is why I might go on a limb and say we keep him, Morton, Betts AND Cartwright. Gibbs may be willing to give up a roster spot to Morton as a return specialist and keep 4 backup RB's. Otherwise they may hope that Sultan can be picked up for the PS after waivers.

Sultan McCullough will never be a starter in this league. The best he can hope to be is a change of pace in the mold of a Ki Jana Carter

mcollough hasn't been injured because he hasn't played enough... he's okay, but i doubt he'll be a starter, unless its a committee and a couple years down the road...

Sultan's best shot at being a starter somewhere is to go back to USC. At least he has a shot at that job!

Well, it certainly won't be the first or the last time I've been wrong about a roster prediction.

I'm surprised Rock made it to be honest with you. Not because I think he's a bad player or anything, it just seems like we have too many at that position. And I can't imagine he'll see a whole lot of action this year unless there's a significant injury.

With Portis getting 90% of the workload, Betts backing him up and Morton in on third downs, how many carries can you expect out of Rock? Obviously most of the time we'll see him on the field will be on special teams, but I can't remember where he stood out there either.

For Rock, it's special teams and heart: both things Gibbs likes. He was looking for Redskins.

As for Sultan, he better stop whining and practice hard, or he'll be gone from the league.

rock did short yardage last year, might do it again... betts and rock both had real game experience, and i think that really helped them...
