Not saying we should cut him, but what do you think Campbell is worth?

Lol...

If we were running a full WCO then I'd like to do it. The whole leftover Gibbs style offense seems to be jamming our WC style up.

For some reason I wouldn't mind having Hasselback. We'd have to go whole hog WCO though.

I really wouldn't like the instabilty of changing Campbell out but even our own front office seems to not have his long term prospects in mind here. Hypotheical situation I'd say yes to Hasselback, but when real life application pans out I'd probably say NO.

If the Skins signed him I guess this would send the clear message to JC that he is not the future - Scout.com said Hasselback at 33 still has 3-4 good years left in his career. My gut tells me leave qb alone and just start building the lines....

Scout.com: Cut Matt Hasselbeck?

maybe, maybe maybe .......

if he's released and Zorn still believes in him as a quarterback - I say do it. Who else can make a better judgment? He has worked closest with both Hasselback and Campbell to make the best decision. The qb is THE most important decision on any team; a team's dependence on success doesn't end on this decision, but it should start there.

It is obvious that the most important position to address is quarterback. Having a qb that fits great always works wonders. Just look at Parcells (and I hate to admit how successful he is with player personnel matters); he makes the hard and sometimes unpopular decision at the time, at this position - both short and long term.

Beyond that will depend on Campbell's development. If JC falters Hasselbeck takes over in 2010. If JC is worthy of a new contract and is the clear answer for the long term, we cut Hasselbeck to let him try to start elsewhere.
You would allow JC to falter through the entire 2009 season before going to Hasslebeck? Oh no, I'm too old and impatient for that!

How about this instead? If JC falters in the 3Q of the first game of 2009, then Hasslebeck takes over in the 4Q of that game.

Then, JC can start the next game. If he plays well, he stays in. If not, we go to the relief pitcher again.

I think it's good for a player to live in fear of losing his job. That way, a coach knows that he's got the player's attention.

I'd say no to Matt Hasselback if, for no other reason than, i fully expect Zorn to be fired after this year. I dont want Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan being stuck with a WCO QB. I guess Holmgren would be fine with Hassleback, but I'd prefer Cowher or Shanahan to him.

Before anyone asks for it, I don't have a link (espn's site has been freezing on me this afternoon), but earlier in the day on the nfc blog, they had the nfc north reporter taking questions & someone asked him about this. He said it's only a 1mil cap figure & he expects MH back in seattle as the coaches expect him to fully heal.

Jason Campbell I need to go back and watch the game again, but what I saw wasn't impressive. What's the problem? Is it really the offensive line? Is it the schemes? Do you need some competition to get your juices flowing again? Should we call it an open competition with Colt this summer? Should we maybe bring in a veteran to put a little scare in you. You want Hasselbeck here?

Mike Shanahan is from the Bill Walsh... George Siefert coaching tree; so if I'm not mistaken, his offense is the WCO.

Good Point, also why would Holgrem come here after Zorn gets fired.

I'd like to see Holgrem as our GM and Zorn stay as our coach.

I'd like to see Holgrem as our GM and Zorn stay as our coach. Then i'd like to see Vinny be in charge of cleaning the bathrooms after home games.

I'd prefer to not play musical QBs that drastically. You've gotta give JC a realistic time to show that he's developing from this year to the next. 3/4 of the first game?

Yeah I agree, I was just tossing that out there. If MH was cut there would be a number of teams lining up to sign him as their starter.
