Re: Steve Largent rips Snyder's handling of the team
It's only natural for Largent to come to the aid of his long time friend and teammate. I wouldn't expect him to say anything different.

Re: Steve Largent rips Snyder's handling of the team
That's almost as famous as Jim Zorn saying the offense is "close"

Re: Steve Largent rips Snyder's handling of the team
Largent and Zorn have been good friends for 30 years, what else was he going to say. No problem with Largent defending Zorn, but he may want to look at some game tape before absolving Zorn of all blame for this mess.

Re: Steve Largent rips Snyder's handling of the team
We should read the part that is bolded out:
Among Largent's comments earlier in the day to KJR radio in Seattle: -- "I don't know what a 'Dan Snyder coach' looks like, and I don't think Dan Snyder knows what a 'Dan Snyder coach' looks like. And that's fairly obvious now ahat he's been through about six head coaches in 10 years." -- "The problem is Jim was hired as an offensive coordinator, by the way, not as a head coach, and then promoted to head coach the same offseason. And yet the coaching position that Jim was given, he was told who his coaches were going to be, he was told who his players were going to be. He didn't have any opportunities to go and seek and find players or coaches that he wanted to fill out on the team - with a couple of exceptions. He hired Sherman Smith and Stump Mitchell, those are the only two guys he hired when he came in his first year. He inherited everything he has to work with today, yet all the blame is being laid at his feet because he can't make them a Super Bowl champion. I could've told you two years ago, they don't have a Super Bowl-quality team. It doesn't matter how good a coach you are; you're not going to get there with the players the owners gives you." -- "The formula that the Redskin owner and the Redskin general manager have for producing a winner on the field is not a winning formula, meaning they can't make all the decisions on the coaches and on the personnel and then just hire some guy from off the street to be head coach and win with what they put on the field. It doesn't work and that's been proven for 10 years in a row. And they had Joe Gibbs in here, a guy who went to many Super Bowls and he couldn't do it with the formula they gave him." -- "The failure of the Redskins is not about Jim Zorn; the faiure of the Redskins starts above him, above his level. I tell you,

Boy, talk about kicked you while you're down, the vamps are having a good time with continuing the onslaught. Tracee Hamilton and Sally Jenkins writing for the Wash.Post, Don Banks of Sports Illus. Mike Sando of ESPN, all having a field day the last few days saying the same thing we've al been saying and knowing for years.
Somewhere Jim Fassel is saying to himself, man that could have been me. |

Edit: You can see how good Saints are now, due to Gregg.. Imagine if we had good offense during his era at here, I wonder what would happen.. |

My point was that Gibbs made this call to sign Arch because of GW, then told Snyderatto what to do, they simply executed what Gibbs said. Gibbs was certainly no "butt boy" to Snyder. If anything, Snyder worshiped the ground Gibbs walked on.

Re: Steve Largent rips Snyder's handling of the team
Well lets just say MNF will be very interesting this week lol, You know damn well that Zorn wants to quit but he wants that money so deep down inside he wants this team to get DESTROYED monday. Of course our offense can't get any worse but if we do get shut out Zorn would be cracking up on Snyder.
