I think I heard on espn that sapp was pissed that most of the weeks planning for the defense was geared toward containing san diego's te Antonio Gates(a huge fantasy sleeper before this year) and finally after San Diego scored its 6TH TD and Gates second of the day, Sapp acted in his typically childish way.
I know this is wayyyyyyyy early but with how well Bree has matured this year and ramsey looking like a ruined player thanks to spurrier, think the skins might dump ramsey or brunnel(even though it'd be a big cap hit) and go after Brees who's gonna be a free agent after this season? and to think we could have gotten him and san diego's 1st and 2nd round picks from this past year for ramsey and our first round spot. We would have traded down, still gotten Taylor as well as have 2-3 more 1st day picks and a mobile qb whose currently ranked 3rd in qb rating in the entire nfl. Or maybe I'm just thinking this stuff up cuz I'm bored right now, lol. |

Speaking of Gates the guy is a monster. He was a fantasy sleeper in Fantasy Football Index but silly me thought who's gonna throw him the ball? The guy is quickly becoming one of the best in the league.
As far as Brees I don't see it happening. I think we'll stick with what we've got and Ramsey will win the job once he settles into this offense. Another offseason of camps will do him alot of good, and before this season is through I think he'll have a few starts, maybe 4-5. |

Christ I tired of hearing about the damn QBs. THEY AREN'T THAT BAD!!!! Seriously...name some of the QBS who've won superbowls. Brad Johnson? Trent Dilfer? Please don't tell me either of these guys is any better than either Brunell or Ramsey. The problem is not simply that our QBs suck. The problem is that we have a million tiny problems. The tiny problems that every team has. We just have more than anyone else. This has been our problem for a decade.

But as we all know, QB's receive too much credit when the team is doing well and too much blame when the team struggles. They're the convenient hero/scapegoat. |

Well put Matty, I couldn't state it any better myself. I agree 100%. Norv is not a good head coach. Yes, the Raiders do have personnell issues. But a whole lot of coaches have had a lot less talent than Turner with better results. That was my main issue with him here. Everybody makes too many excuses for Norv and they blame Snyder. People forget, Turner is now a loser with three different owners: Jack Kent Cooke, John Kent Cooke, Dan Snyder and Al Davis.
Stick to the booth Norv. This has been your entire Head Coaching Career |

That's why they earn the big bucks. If Brunell was 10% more accurate we'd have won more than 50% of our games. |

it is about qb play, the most important position on the field and its our worst position and dead last in the nfl or atleast nfc. imagine the possibilities of a 80 yard TD pass to coles on a fly pattern. it could happen if brunell would throw it to coles and not off target out of bounds or to the other team. against the bears, all day to pass and coles was open deep and what happned, a freaking shit pass that sailed away and was not even on target. or this past game, DID YOU MISS THE 3 YARD DUMP SCREEN PASS TO TAYLOR????? IT WAS OVER THROWN TO WHERE HE HAD TO MAKE A JUMPING ONE HANDED GRAB WHICH CAUSED A 2 YARD LOSS ON A 3RD N 1. or maybe clinton out in the flat that could have made a decent 9 to 15 yards and he throws it where clinton has to dive and we get 5 yards. or later on the same route, its so terribly thrown that clinton couldnt even catch it. IT ALL STARTS THERE. OH, last one, cooley open in the endzone, and brunell spins a 360 and over thows him for a TD. granted he was under some preasure, but alot of qbs make that throw because they can throw it on a rope instead we have a guy who throws hot air baloons and it sails over our 6'4" h-back in the endzone with NOBODY ON D IN SITE. once again, it all starts there.

Brunell hasn't been playing well, but you can't forget the bad play calling, the penalties on the line, and the pressure he's taking. As I say to my dad during games "typical Redskins football." Basically, when you've sucked for so long, its hard to just automatically be good. Give Joe time, we'll get it together, I think people's expectations were too high this season.

i agree. expectations were way to high. the last few years i've thought we were a very talented team that just needed the right direction, but I'm not so sure now. Hopefully a full year together can improve the chemistry of Gibbs' real redskins, cos I can't take many more losing seasons.
