How far can Beck take us?

I brought this up in the Stallworth thread. I guess we have to wait and see who we sign and then see what happens over the next month or so.

If he earns the job (he still has to earn the job, Shanny won't play him if he doesn't think he can win with him), I forsee him being solid.

I don't see us making deep playoff appearances with him or anything, but I think he can be a stabilizing force at the quarterback position for a few years, with a couple surprising runs here and there. He might not be elite, but he'll at least be stable.

On what do you base these opinions? The guy hasn't thrown a pass in an NFL game since 2007! He has thrown exactly one TD in his entire four-year NFL career. I cannot see a single reason, other than blind faith in Shanny, for you to conclude that Beck can stabilize our QB position.

Dude, it was straight high school. It was honestly hilarious. It was absolutely brutal.”
