How far can Beck take us?

Shanny seems to be sold on this guy. If we sign who we think we will in Cullen Jenkins, Phillip Buchanon, and Jamaal Brown, and we sign two other guys (C/G, WR), we could potentially have a pretty solid roster this year on the condition that Beck is able to deliver. IMO, in todays nfl, a team only goes as far as its qb can take them. Assuming we get what we think we will, and we sign a couple more FAs (I know, that's alot of "ifs"), how far do you think is the (realistic) limit for beck to take us? I personally do not have faith in him, but the fact that Shanny does makes me re-evaluate my thought process from "we're screwed" to "we're probably doomed, but lets see what he does before we make an absolute statement." So where I stand right now is that I don't think that beck can do it for us, and we should probably start hoping that we get a franchise qb next year, but I'm willing to see what he can do, I'm willing to see if he will surprise me. I do not think beck can make us contenders, but I hope I am wrong.

You don't even know if he's going to win the starting position in Camp. Let's allow Shanny to announce his starting QB at the end of pre-season to start asking those questions. Hell, let the roster fill up at least.

Re: How far can Beck take us?

I would say this Thread is kind of pointless because we still have a chance to get VY or Orton but I'm pretty sure Beck is the guy, saying that I don't think anyone really knows. He had a Great college career, accurate and big arm so he has some tools. Give him some targets which he will have, Moss, CC and I'm hoping Edwards.. Plus A good Run game and. we may have a solid starting QB.

Re: How far can Beck take us?

Fawk Beck. I seriously hope this guy is not our QB. I be so disinterested in this season if he is the starter. The guy is journeyman. I honestly rather have JC back over this bozo.

And they way he is running around like he is the starter is so fawking annoying.

Beck, Rex, whatever dogshit qb wins the job, its the same question either way. But as of all reports, Beck does seem to be the guy.
And your right, I should let the roster fill up before asking this question, but I'm getting impatient/excited to talk football, and it is a hypothetical question based on conditions. If you don't want to answer, then don't, but its an interesting conversation IMO to have as of today.

Re: How far can Beck take us?

No one has been named the starter yet.
FA period is not over yet.
Grossman hasn't been signed by anyone yet.
Beck may never even see the field this season.

I'm all for this guy actually. Rather him than Rex or Leinart.
