Re: Top Stories Going Into Camp
Not skins related but:
Bengals announced that rookie OT Jonah Williams had left shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum. Williams likely will miss the 2019 season, but is expected to make a full recovery. That blows. Bengals could be really bad

I'm looking for same things except for the injury part - it seems like everyone will be healthy by the time the season begins. WR - I'm really curious to see how this works out. It will be disaster season for Redskins and #1 QB if Quinn is only reliable receiver this season. Defense - I have high hopes for this unit although the fact that Manusky is defense coordinator keep my hopes down to normal level. I have to give Manusky some credits for good defense in first half of season last year but everything fell apart by second half of the season. Manusky have no excuses this time (unless majority of defense starters are injured). |

I'm specifically eager to know how the CB battle will pan out. I personally am a fan of Norman, I think both his toughness and smartness are underrated. Stroman showed some nice flashes last year. If Moreau feels like having a break out year, now is the time. Everybody seems to love what they're seeing from Jimmy Moreland so far, and Quinton Dunbar will always have a special place in my Skins fan's heart. So this is looking like a nice young group with a solid veteran, I like it. And GOOOD do I want to see Wes Martin win that effin LG starting job !!!!

Doug Williams: Decision to start Dwayne Haskins will be made by "Jay (Gruden), myself, probably Bruce (Allen) and the owner"
So.. Haskins is starting

Personally, there's going to be more fan pressure to start Haskins than from ownership.

This. This is why it's so hard to find any optimism going forward with this franchise. Are all of these folks going to be involved in the starting WR positions too?? The RBs?? The LBs?? I'm betting Jay cannot wait to get fired after this season to get out of this organization.

Re: Top Stories Going Into Camp
Yeah I heard Doug. Really it should be up the head coach. Bruce will agree with whatever Dan wants cause he's a rat bitch and will do whatever he needs to do to stay employed. Problem is Jay will most likely opt to stick with Colt or Case in order to stay average. The hell with that. I'd rather win 4 or 5 games with Haskins playing over winning 7 or 8 games with the other guys. The thing with Haskins is he was playing his best at the end of Ohio State's season. He was getting better as the season wore on.

Re: Top Stories Going Into Camp
Owner shouldn't have a say, Jay's earned the call.
My personal feeling is if the Oline is intact and Haskins has played well in preseason...then start him. If Haskins been shaky, then start Keenum/Colt the first 5 and give Haskins the opportunity to watch and then step in mid season

Re: Top Stories Going Into Camp
Here's a crazy thought, let the competition play out in camp and play the best one.

Re: Top Stories Going Into Camp
Agree and that works great in HS and College but money talks and fans won't come to games with Colt Mccoy as the starter, probably not even Case. Haskins will put people in the stands and that is what the NFL / Owners want.
