Re: Kliff Kingsbury Gone?
They need to look at what Ben Johnson has done w/ Caleb. Look at what Kyle has done w/ the last pick in the damn draft. Get JD under center some more. Get him doing some boots. It's not that hard. Get away from all the shotgun plays and designed QB runs.
There are plenty of guys that can implement that kind of offense. Go get a Brian Flores type. Stop playing this pussy defense. Hell go get Gregg Williams. I think he's coaching the Defenders. He's been the 2nd best DC here since Ritchie. |

I find it funny that we don’t talk enough about that when we talk QB play. My feeling is this, for a running game it’s better under center. I just think it easier to disguise, hand offs are less visible and RB/Oline run play is faster developing. Passing game benefits as I believe holds the middle defenders (safety/lb) just a second more. I’d ask JD5 what he prefers when passing the ball and then mix it up, coaching to what may be a weakness throwing when under center. To me the clearest thing is this, the OC who takes the job…protecting JD5 body needs to be a primary goal. Enough design runs and trying to scramble when there is nowhere to go: throw the ball away.

And protecting JD5 is a must. I don't hold with the 'he's too frail' argument, but it will be proven valid if we don't protect him adequately from hits, and more importantly, coach him to look after himself. Get OOB, get rid of the ball, learn how to roll with a tackle to minimise injury risk etc. All of this can be drummed into him with the right teacher. And I'd add a good QB coach (assuming Blough is gone too) can only help. |

Re: Kliff Kingsbury Gone?
I am probably in the minority here but I would have liked KK to stay on. I thought his game plan clicked last year. This year no QB1, WR1, WR2 etc. He owned when he called a bad game (Minnesota). I get the frustration with not having enough of JD under center but there could be reasons for that which make me concerned for other reasons. I am perfectly fine with the designed runs.

New OC considerations. Thoughts? https://atozsports.com/nfl/washingto...vToUTY1JC_yWfQ
I like the idea of Slowik for 2 reasons; Shanahan tree and by the same token, he could help the D where they've arguably been weakest - vs Shanahan scheme offenses. |
