Re: David Blough is the new offensive coordinator
john kiem had a good podcast on the situation
loks like it was mike m and dave mike m wants to be a hc first so will follow those roads det started or wanted to interview dave wash didn't want wait for mike m and also see dave walk out the door, thus not having 1 or 2 in their option tree

Re: David Blough is the new offensive coordinator
Just want him to be under center more and that ranking of 4th had alot to do with JD5, kliff wasnt bad, he did well this year went off the rails across the board. Cant blame em

there was a while where kliff was doing pretty well even without jd5 i am happy to see whitt leave; if we sign big bird as DC that be a upgrade not sure we got a upgrade at OC and remember joe w was a first time DC and well we saw how that worked out, he was actually awful both years , hopefully Dave does better in his first year I be more confident in Dave doing well if our HC was a offensive mind, not sure who is mentoring Dave in his new role or who he can turn to in the org. for guidance when he is lost

Best part of this is if it doesn’t workout, DQ is gone next year.

Regarding Blough I like the move. I keep hearing how the nfl fraternity views him as future HC material so if you have a chance on the guy take it.

Re: David Blough is the new offensive coordinator
Kliff's offense was not something that was good for JD's career. Quinn I assume asked him to change some things and he balked. So now he hires someone who has never ran an offense, nor has he called any plays, nor made any in game adjustments and so on. He's never even been the QB coach. He was the assistant to the QB coach which baffles me what that guy actually does.
I know everyone is high of the guy but I'm skeptical. I feel like Quinn needed to find the best guy, not a guy who is buddies w/ JD or was on the radar for a few other teams. You can't sit here and tell me this is the best guy for the job when you have Daboll out there who has proven success w/ Josh Allen. Idk.. I'll take the wait and see approach. |

Re: David Blough is the new offensive coordinator
Commanders are hiring former Falcons QBs coach D.J. Williams as their QB coach, per sources. D.J. is the son of Washington legend Doug Williams, an executive in the Commanders’ front office.
Nepo hire The more things change, the more they don’t

Re: David Blough is the new offensive coordinator
Keim's quick summary on DJ Williams - hard to tell if he is a good coach or not based on the summary tho.

Re: David Blough is the new offensive coordinator
Dan Snyder is gone, let it go man.
Not going to get worked up about the QB coach hire because of his last name.

Re: David Blough is the new offensive coordinator
It’s fair to assess head coaches and coordinators as fans, but we don’t know jack shit about position coaches.
