Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders

I think the worst part will be when they put on those uniforms. That may push me to root for someone else. I want Brady to get another one, and I like Leftwich and Bowles so I want those guys to win.. Idk.. I sorta feel indifferent. It's just not the same anymore. But I still love football, I just don't know if I will care once the games start. There were times last year where I actually watched other games while ours was being played. That just would never ever ever happen back in the day when the streets were empty when the games were on..

Someone that I do business with sent me a bunch of Commanders gear in the mail. I gave almost all of it to my neighbor's kid. I see him w/ the Commnaders hat on all the time but he is the ONLY person I have seen w/ any of the new gear. I did keep the Pro V 1's w/ the ugly ass W on the side of the ball. Can't wait to smack the shit out of that W. I won't care if I hit them out of bounds or in the water.. :-) haha.

I agree. Simple, efficient, good look. Just burgundy and gold in your face, I like it.

Let’s just hope these pix don’t resemble game day crowds.

Question. How many posters here won't refer to the team as Commanders. Just want get a feel to see how many are taking that approach to the team.

I refer to them as the Commanders online to be correct - but I still call them Redskins off the pc because it's hard to change when that's what I've been calling them all my life. When I see the burgundy and gold I automatically associate that with Redskins.

Having the experience of going from Bullets to Wizards, I have had no problems referring to them as the Commanders, although I do find it easier referring to the team as Washington.

Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders

I've been a fan since 1974. I won't have an issue calling them Commanders -- it will feel weird at first (and that wasn't my first choice of a name), but I am ok with it. I care more about the product on the field than the name.

Same...for me that may likely be because they were washington football team for a bit, so I got really used to calling them just washington. Now with another switch, that has stuck for me. I'll likely continue to call them washington...esp as they don't really have anything else that distinguishes them as commanders. All the logos and everything are a w and the such. It's just the first thing I see.

Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders

I refer to them as Commanders but when talking casually to people will still call them the Skins or Redskins from time to time. It is just ingrained from years of fandom.
