Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins
My predictions for the 2006 Washington Redskins.
1) Win the NFC East (sweep the Cowgirls). 2) Win at least 11 games. 3) Make it to the NFC Championship, possibly the Superbowl barring any major injuries or setbacks. 4) Pro Bowl: Clinton Portis, Chris Samuel, Randy Thomas, Chris Cooley, Santana Moss, Marcus Washington and Sean Taylor(aquitted).

Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins
Last year was the first year in a long time in which I actually predicted them worse than .500 (predicted 6-10). With that in mind, I'm picking 2-14 but I can't say why because my conscious mind will catch on and force me to type my actual prediction of 14 an .... oops almost let it out. Trust me my prediction is going to be right on.

Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins
You asked AS OF RIGHT NOW. So here's my assessment:
The passing game improves, Portis and Cooley are good again, the defensive line is upgraded, the linebacking is about the same, the safeties are upgraded. But the CBs and offensive line depth are weaker right now. There is no depth. At some point, some of those players will get injured and we'd be starting the Ade or Jim Molinaro at some point. Not good. It's also unrealistic to expect the transition to Saunders to be completely seamless. It's not a major adjustment, but it is a bit of a change. Given that, I think we go 10-6 the way we're currently comprised. But, ask me how we look once we add a nickel CB, some o-line depth, and a linebacker. I'm liable to tell you we look like NFC Championship game material, at the bare minimum.

Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins
Does this mean that since Brunell is a scrambling QB and Saunders offense is geared towards pocket-passing that Saunders isn't going to be crafty enough or Brunell isn't going to spend more in practice throwing from the pocket?
There is a little bit of playful sarcasm there but not my intentions are not malicious. I just think the point of Brunell being just a scrambler is overemphasized. If there is a problem I'm sure Gibbs and Saunders have given it thought and talked with Brunell about their plans and whatever revisions are necessary. |

Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins
1. 11-5 record.. I think they are clearly improved from last years 10 win team and coming in with a lot more confidence. I didn't feel they believed in Gibbs until the Rams game.
2. Make it to the NFC Championship game, no telling what happens then. 3. Portis will be the MVP, 1500+ yds, 12-15 TD 4. I predict top 8 in offense and defense but we will continue to struggle to cause turnovers.. Also we will be debating whether Eric Mangini gave Patrick Ramsey a fair shake for the Jets QB job.

This is NOT a knock on Campbell, just a comment on his experience. In another season, Patrick Ramsey is going to be a fine quarterback for someone. |

I was talking about the "reads" that are designed into pass plays...going from one receiver to the next if the first isn't open. |

Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins
Too early to tell. We should revisit this after free agency, the draft, and training camp. Then, after cuts, injuries, and a talent preview, we can give some educated guesses.
