Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins

Now that some of the dust has settled and a good portion of our team is in place what are your expectations for 2006 as of today . . .? I know a lot can change in this league, quick!

maybe we can revisit this at the end of the preseason and make new ones.

To keep it simple, lets say 1. how many wins the skins should get, 2. how far we should get into the playoffs if you think we will make them! and, 3. who will be the Skins MVP, and then 4. add in one more expecation or predicton.
  1. I say anything less then 11 wins will be a dissapointment, our revamped offense should be able to squeeze out a game like in Denver in 05 and not only pick up yards but get into the endzone, that has to be worth at least 1 more victory.
  2. I say we win at least two games in the playoffs, that could be the second round or the NFC champ game, depending if get that bye.
  3. I think Portis is gonna benefit the most from the additions this year. He is going to rack up at least 1650 yards and 10+ TD's, he will be our MVP
  4. my add in is I think another QB besides Brunell will play a lot this year, due to injury. I have a feeling he won't hold up the entire year

Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins

im going to be bold with mine:

1) at least MAKE it to the super bowl. if we dont with all this talent (barring injury) theres no way we dont make it.

2) portis is MVP of the league. passing sets up the run, running sets up the pass, portis rushes for 1800+

3) top 3 d and O. with arguably the best offensive and defensive coordinators, this is overdue.

4) jason campbell starts by mid-season due to a) injury to brunell or b) poor play from brunell

5) all 3 main WRs have 900+ yards receiving.

at one point in the season (when brunell gets hurt or is playing poorly) someone will bitch and gibbs with diffuse it.

pwned.

Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins

The only two games that bothered me were the away games at NY Giants, and at Indianapolis, however with the team we now have I believe truly believe that we can win all 16 games next season plus post season games, that would mean that in a single season we would be the winningest team ever.

campbell either starts the season or brunell starts and finishes it.

If campbell has to come in midway (meaning he's NOT the best option), there's a good chance the super bowl dream is done.

Your MVP should generally be your QB if you're going to the super bowl. Ours right now would have to be portis or moss right now though.

My expectations are very simple:

As compensation for B. Lloyd, the SF 49rs will be receiving the 32nd pick in the 4th round next year.

We were bloody close last year. Our passing game let us down. We've made some improvements there. I'm scared sh1tless about QB, but I'm thinking Ray Charles could find somebody open with what we're planning to enter the season with.

Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins

I'm pretty new here but am known as the #1 optimist as CelticNation.com where I am a HOFer and top 3 or 4 in total posts. That will set you up for my predictions.

Saunders will get the best year yet out of Portis. Thats his MO. Backs that play for him have huge years both running and recieving. The only question is can he hold up?

Jansen, Thomas amd Samuels will make the ProBowl(somethng else Saunders produces...All-Pro offensive linemen) for paving the way for Portis.

Moss wont catch as many passes but will find alot more room to roam and will score more TD's. Randle El and Lloyd will botrh stay happy because they will catch more balls then they did last season.

Cooley will make the first of many trips to the ProBowl having a monsterous year...again going by Saunders track record...he loves using the TE.

Defense will be the best we've seen thus far from GW will his new toys.

We'll win our division going away, get a first round bye.

Everything after that depends on injuries.

Brunell doesn't fit Al Saunders' offense and Campbell is green.

Who's gonna drive?

The offense never gets in gear.

Lots of finger pointing.

We finish 8 - 8 and Dan Snyder is once again the punchline for some really bad jokes.

All together now! Boooooooooooooooooo

if saunders can't make it work with the pieces we got, then we can go back to last year's plan. The offensive will be better not worse and the defense will be fine and get mroe sacks.

I was counting on that. Otherwise I would have predicted 6 - 10.

Re: Your expectations/predictions for the 2006 Redskins

im definitely feeling the defense will be back in top form again. id love to see us draft a DL guy or two (maybe with Ramseys pick). Archuleta will give us a great blitz from the safety position as well as Carter from de.

  1. I see 13-3, possibly 14-2
  2. Make your reservations for Miami
  3. Portis should get MVP this year
  4. I agree with everybody else, there is a good chance Brunnell won't play the whole season

so with everyone returning and 3 offensive upgrades, 2 defensive upgrades, an OC upgrade, and a couple ST upgrades, and a MASSIVELY easier schedule, we're somehow going to suddenly get much much much worse for no apparent reason?
