That's right. So we'll cut him loose. What a waste.

I don't think we have heard the last of Duckett. My guess is that we sign him to a big extension with at least a 12million dollar signing bonus and then we keep him on the bench for like five more years just to mess with everyone's mind.

A big, expensive diversion...I like it.

Re: First and goal from the 2- WHERE'S TJ???

if its a redundant thread, i apologize, it just sickens me. I'm not taking anything form portis or betts, but I simply don't understand the situation. Why wouldn't you give the ball to him? Not to compare to him to the Bus- bc i understand Bettis did MUCH MUCH more, but i mean, they have similiar builds ..and Pitt gave him the ball (over willie parker last year) when they needed to score. If Bettis is too much of a reach, how about the falcons giving the ball to TJ on the goal line over Dunn. I know portis is bigger than dunn and parker, but the principle applies. We struggle to get into the endzone in short yardage, why not try something new? especially when the newer option is proven!?!?

Re: First and goal from the 2- WHERE'S TJ???

Did anyone see the Al Saunders interview on Comcast this morning? Saunders was asked this very question and said the Clinton got the ball because he was the # 1 back. Then he said something like "it didn't work so we'll go in a different direction next time". I wonder if he meant Duckett, or just the play calling.

I heard Gibbs told Portis something like "You're our guy so we'll give you every opportunity to score the TD, but if we continue to get stopped on goal line rushes we need to give it to TJ in those situations"

or something like that

Re: First and goal from the 2- WHERE'S TJ???

I too have a hard time comprehending the fact that TJ is not in the game in those situations. Its not a matter of learning the offense. All they have to do is run the damn thing up the guards ass. You can't tell me Joe isn't that bright. Thomas and Jansen = 600lbs or more. add Sellers 260plus and tj 260 plus that is over 1,000 lbs. they can't move the damn ball 1 yard?? that is stupid. the play calling in that situation was horrible. I think Joe may have been trying to get the O-lines confidence up, letting them know he believes in them, as well as portis. Fact, is we are 2-5, we need to get the ball in the endzone any way we can. if that means no portis at the goal line, so be it!!

Re: First and goal from the 2- WHERE'S TJ???

I think TJ was insurance when the coaches did not know what would happen with the CP injury. Now that they have him its like they don't know what to do with him. The problem I saw with those downs is that we knew where they were going. Dallas has a good D line and if you tell them that we are going to run the ball right at them they will win most of those. We did not even show any pass play with those downs and if we spread them out just a little I think we would have scored. I think they were trying to make a statement about running the ball just chose the wrong time to do so.

Re: First and goal from the 2- WHERE'S TJ???

We should have lined up in the I-formation with Sellers(278lbs) @ full back and TJ(254lbs) @ tail back. Now that's a huge goal line package! What happened to Smash Mouth football? Damn Saunders, were you drunk in the press box?

"Smash Mouth Football" is buried somewhere in the 700-page playbook. Nobody can find it yet though. Too many pages.
