I heard from a guy that Springs may be moving to safety. Not to sure about the source so if anyone knows something let me know. We definately have an abundance.

an abundance of what?

He's still a good cb, but when you throw in Springs and Smoot, that makes Rogers our 3rd best cb. This is not to say that Rogers sucks. Many teams wish they had a 3rd CB with Rogers talent.
Yes, he was OK his rookie season. Last year he was not the #1 until injuries put him there. He wanted the #1 role if you recall, and he sucked hard, being "thrusted" there is not the point, he proved he can't handle the pressure. It wasn't until the end of the season when they changed up his role that he did ok again. Our defense wasn't poor all season, our secondary was poor, it was poor because of Rogers not playing well, and getting no safety help. This hurt the overall D like dominoes. But it started with the secondary.
We're very lucky you have nothing to do with our scouting department... Or were you the one who vouched for Archuleta being on of the elite cover safteies in this league?

Re: What are we doin with our D-Backs?

I want to see one explanation how the Redskins would be better by taking Springs off the other team's best receiver and putting him at safety.

I don't want to hear about health, I want to know why it would make sense on any level to take your highest paid member of the secondary and put him at Strong Safety when your #2 and #3 corners have proven that they cannot cover #1 receivers.

This isn't fantasy land, this is the NFL and Springs is the only player on our team who has shown that he can cover a #1.

Vincent was cut almost a month ago, and Jimoh as our #3 CB is a scary thought.

We would be better off blitzing him every down if he was the nickelback.

i agree with you. i like both rogers and smoot but neither one has shown they can cover a teams #1 wr. springs, on the other hand, is a top 5 cb when healthy.

Re: What are we doin with our D-Backs?

Ive played football at every level from pee-wee to arena football, and I know that being a cornerback in the NFL is not something you just start out being good at. I believe that Rogers did it pretty well last year and if he can do that well his first year think about where hes gona be in his third year. They are being asked to run as fast as you can and stop on a dime and change direction all in a matter of a mili second with no warning just going off of instict. A shut down cover corner-----thats gonna become a thing of the past. Dont sleep on Rogers. Smoot better feel lucky to play the role player. GO SKINS

OK, I can get on board with that.

haha, I've seen every CB be burnt at some point, so you want me to watch Smoot getting burnt by arguably the best and quickest WR in the game, that EVERY CB has difficulty covering? Yeah, that's a convincing argument.
I saw Rogers get burnt by crap wr's, so by your logic, I guess Rogers is horrible.
I don't buy that logic buddy. Getting burnt by the best, or getting burnt by the worst are not indications of how they actually perform. It happens. I know we exhault Green to godlike status, but yes, even Green got burnt on several occasions.
