That's very easy for you to say. But the players probably don't want to play at all. The guys that were close to him probably can't wait for the season to end so they can heal.

I don't know about anyone else but I really don't care about the rest of the season.

I understand everyone grieves differently but I know if it were me that my way of grieving would be to do what I said. I would feel that to abandon purpose would be disrespecting Sean. But that is just me.

I know what you are saying. Part of me is saying how could this happen. Another part wants to see the Redskin family together sunday to help get well with each other. Another part says it hurts to much. Then there is the part that says get the guys or guy that did this. This is going to be hard to get over and we are on the outside looking in. Not the family or players or friends of Sean Taylor.

I'm agree with you. I believe the team will honor Sean by playing inspired football. I couldn't care less about wins/losses as long as they play from the heart and leave everything on the field, the way Sean did, they will be successful in honoring their teammate.

We owe it as fans to show up on Sunday and cheer and cry and the we owe it as a team to honor Sean with effort and pride.

I think this may be a little different. Many of the players will miss him certainly during the game. This is not like he is missing because he is hurt or traded or a free agent who has gone to antoher team. He was their leader back there. The guys on D will miss him on the field. He was one of their generals. This will be tough for our team and our fans when we don;t see him out there. HAIL!! ;

Re: How will the team react?

I expect to hear a unifying message of 'let's go do it for Sean' and the rest of the season being driven towards trying to make a positive out of this awful situation.

This comes back to Gibbs and Co bringing the team together as one strong family. We can curl up in a ball, or we can come out and honor him with our finest efforts. It's gonna take a lot of strength and maturity, but I think we all know Sean wants to look down on his teammates and see them knock heads, not pout. I believe Gibbs will help our players mourn him off the field, and honor him on it.

Re: How will the team react?

I can't see how they won't put together one of their best performances this season. With so much emotion the energy level will be tough for coaches to control. If I were the coach I would tell my boys "Leave it all on the field, you can't change it, so just get it all out & leave it there".

I'm sure the Bills would prefer not to be the next team on the Skins schedule, who would...?

I see the Skins winning this through emotion & relentless effort. I could see the fans rushing the field in celebration, now that's a win I would like to see!

Sean Taylor was football, he loved the sport. They will play and honor him by playing hard, that's what he would have liked to see.

As I said in my original post, these tragedies can swing greatly in either direction, maybe it unites the team to play their best from here on.

I agree that at some point the effort & pride will take over, but it's hard to win on just that. Game planning & everyday tasks at practice will be extremely tough this week. I suspect they may get in 1 full practice this week, if even that. Next week will be tough as they try to get back to normal. The mental focus & preparation will be harder than the physical aspects IMO.

I think we agree for the most part, just saying it differently. Like you, I will be proud of the team if they play hard. I also expect them to simply show as much class & reverence as they can for each game.

When you think about it, these guys have quite a responsibility on their hands; they are now representing Sean Taylor's legacy & are forever connected to his family, whether they knew him or not.

Re: How will the team react?

I definitely think they will play hard. Not so sure if they will play well. There's going to be so much emotion out there that i don't know if they'll be able to execute. No shame in that. I'm really not concerned with a W this week. It just doesn't have them same importance as it did 48 hours ago.

I'm sure the NFL Network is putting together a show to honor ST. I'm not sure what they could do right now other than going over the same stuff that they went over yesterday.

It should have been prepared yesterday quite honestly. But that's neither here nor there. I'm sorry I brought the whole issue up.
