Re: Who will win the punter battle?
Well said......now if we could find a west coast QB and some WR's along with a younger line we would be set!

Re: Who will win the punter battle?
I want Brooks. Frost is an average NFL punter that we will be talking about replacing every offseason until we eventually do. Brooks has the chance to be more then that.

Re: Who will win the punter battle?
Either one that is let go will be available if the one that is kept gets the shanks...i'd rather go with youth at this point. The Skins used a pick on Brooks, let him keep the job.

Re: Who will win the punter battle?
I think Frost has out performed Brooks and if I thought this team had a really good chance to make a push for the SB I'd say stick with Frost. I think Brooks is going to be a better punter and I don't think it going to really matter this year I'm going with Brooks. I do think Frost will be with another team pretty quick if we cut him.

Think they'll keep Frost. Hope they choose Brooks.

Re: Who will win the punter battle?
I voted Brooks because mainly I have a good feeling about the Redskins desire to keep him and cut Frost. Also think that Wade and Mason might get the boot to.

Re: Who will win the punter battle?
I'm glad Sir Shanksalot is gone. He's good for a 60 yarder punt immediately followed by two 30 yarders.. We know who he is, there are 15 Derrick Frosts out there so if for some reason Brooks is a bust we won't be in a worse position than where we are now.

Re: Who will win the punter battle?
Frostys farewell message to Dan, his Ex-Teammates & THE FANS. I wish the guy the best.
Posted at 6:02 PM ET, 08/31/2008 Frost Sends a Message Punter Derrick Frost sent this email this evening to thank fans and the organization. He was cut from the team Saturday: "I very much appreciate the opportunity to put in greater perspective my comments in response to being released by the Redskins yesterday. As much as I regret them, the quotes don't reflect my appreciation for this area, my teammates, the world-class Redskins fans, or the unique tradition the Redskins have built in this region over several generations. It is an honor to have played for this organization and before these great fans for over three years, and I can only hope for a similar experience with my next team. While I believe that I performed well enough to have earned the punting job this preseason, the ultimate decision does not belong to me. The fact of the matter is that playing for a professional sports team is a privilege. Durrant Brooks is a fine young punter and I wish him great success here in Washington. He is fortunate to team with Ethan Albright and Shaun Suisham. I loved working with them, and look forward to a continued friendship with them and their families. It is joked that punters and kickers should rent, not buy. But my wife, Sarah, and I have really fallen for this city. We are expecting our first child in February, and want to raise our family here, no matter where my next NFL opportunity takes me. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity Mr. Snyder gave me here in my favorite city. I regret that my performance here did not make the Redskins want to extend my tenure. I wish my Redskins teammates and fans all the best this year and down the road." Derrick Frost

He'll find a job in the near future. Another good decision by the team to move forward.

Re: Who will win the punter battle?
And, chances are, we'd probably end up with Derrick Frost again.

Re: Who will win the punter battle?
Quote:
Green Bay is expected to sign former Redskins punter Derrick Frost. The NFL’s leading rusher in the preseason, Marcus Mason, is expected to sign with Baltimore’s practice squad. There were 32 players claimed on waivers, proving that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
