So Trip you make your observations through whatever shade your glasses are, while a growing number of people OBSERVE your biases week in and week out.
Oh, hey there village idiot. Missed you last week.

Hopefully our D is still good by the time we get an O that can score. We're not exactly looking hopeful in some positions over the next few years.

when it counts our defense sits 10 yds off the ball and gives up first downs.

Well, we're a lot younger than we were last year. Problem is, our young players aren't necessarily talented.

The 2008 draft is the posterchild for this, but you can look at the quality of the undrafted talent as well.

Re: Can we get some love for the Defense?

This defense is the only reason all potential HC candidates won't avoid us like the plague. Instead they'll look at us like a really hot girl with swine flu.

I will say though that Haynesworth is definitely proving his worth. Very little chance Carter gets back to back 2 sack games without the big man in the middle. The only thing that worries we though is finding out how hard he's willing to play for a loosing team. He's already proved that he was a huge reason the Titans went 13-3 last year.

What this team really needs right now is the ability to play smash mouth football to compliment the defense. It's the piece that every team that wins with defense has.

They should probably bench Phat Albert the rest of the year and just work on conditioning for next season.

Did I mention that I hate Snyder?
Anyone who doesn't know what Haynesworth has shouldn't be here.

Exactly, our youth is Tryon, Barnes, a couple of LBs, WRs, etc

We can look forward to Orakpo, Jarmon, Horton, etc.. but which of the CBs, LBs, WRs, OL, etc do we know will even be on our squad in the near future.. or anybody else's?

Re: Can we get some love for the Defense?

the defense is great, it could be even more better if they were more motivated to stop the opposing offenses, since they are so used to getting back on the field after our offense goes 3 and out, the more our offense does that the less motivated our defense becomes. Our team could be pretty scary if we scored more than 17 points a game!

and from such an analytical mind...I put about as much confidence in that statement as I put in all of your other analysis. Only you didn't come up with that did you. I think one of your boyfriends said it first.

Trip if your going to spout off all the time at least say something original. Or is that not statistically possible.

Re: Can we get some love for the Defense?

Good point. The D remains our strong side. My question is, how good does our Offense have to be to get wins from a stellar defense? For years teams like Pitt, and Jacksonville had sh@t offense, but there D kept them in their games.

Re: Can we get some love for the Defense?

I think its funny that now since JC was benched its like ANY QB who takes a snap from Center is doomed according to the JC soup slurpers. I guess if JC couldnt have success then NOONE can even if the man taking his spot is the same guy who led us to the playoffs the last time he took over for JC.
And NO, im not sayin TC is going to come in and turn it all around but i do believe it was time for a change. All we heard about during the preseason was how JC was taking over in the huddle and getting in players' faces for missing assignments or running wrong routes, well he must have gotten B Slapped because not once did i see this during the season. it was the ol JC who shows zero pulse and reverted back to his usual shortcomings ie slow reads, inaccurate throws downfield and not being a vocal leader of the team when clearly they needed one. So now if TC starts everyone needs to practice what they have been preaching to the non JC supporters and get behind our QB. If JC starts next week hopefully he does better but at this point i think he has lost all confidence in zorn, and likewise.

Re: Can we get some love for the Defense?

I'm behind ANY QB who can get this offense to score points. With the receivers we have, or at least the way they're used, it's no easy task.

Re: Can we get some love for the Defense?

We need to get some fresh legs on the field, id like to see Marko on the field especially in the RZ. DT and MK need to step up also.
How can we draft 2 good wrs who were said to have been 1st round talent and they dont contribute yet the eagles can draft young wrs and they are starting and making plays in the early part of their rookie years? in the same freaking offense..Get a damn wr coach who knows what he is doing.

Re: Can we get some love for the Defense?

Last week Hall gave up the 3rd down, this week it was Rogers. Offense woulda had a chance in both cases. When they wrapping up then we'll talk about defense.
