Yes, and the best place to get that sort of recreational substance is a place called "The Grey Area." Its a great shop with fair prices. There is a great Indonesian place across the street too....

Re: Favorite Places You Have Visited
Nice thread.
US: NYC, Texas hill country (Austin included), Great Smokey Mts., coast of Maine, Tombstone, AZ, the Rocky mts, NOLA, ole DC. Elsewhere: Paris, Venice, Rome, London--I love the big old cities. Paris is probably my favorite, but Venice is from another world. The Croatian coast (Dubrovnik) is amazing. Edinburgh--a great town. Amsterdam: go a to a coffee shop, get some nice hash, light up, and then walk around all day and night. Go in the summer when it stays light real late. Last but certainly not least: the entire country of IRELAND! What an amazing place. We spent 3 weeks there on our honeymoon and it was not long enough. (I most definitely left a bunch of places off my list--there's so many cool places here and abroad.)

Re: Favorite Places You Have Visited
Everywhere I've been in my life has been on the East Coast of the US, but so far I've really enjoyed going to NYC, going to Miami and hitting up the Florida Keys while I was down there too. Those are about the only places I've visited that I really enjoyed.

Vegas... Vegas.... Vegas... I love that city.
I love DC, I'm an out of town guy and something about it I just love.... Dominican Republic & Santa Monica are both very high on my list as well.

Monument Valley and the Arches National Park, both in the southwest, are among my favorite visited places. My wife and I honeymooned in the mountains in Peru (up to Macchu Picchu), which was also a pretty stunning trip. I also loved the three days I spent a few years ago in Memphis. What a great town. In terms of sport venues, I'm very glad I got to see a game in the old Tiger Stadium before the team moved out and the city tore it down. |

Re: Favorite Places You Have Visited
Great call on Atlantis. My wife and I went for our honeymoon and brought our son with us the next year.
Boston Garden. Got to bring my Mom (her and my Dad were from the area) to watch the Cs play in the final season of the Gah-den. Sitting in the old, ricketty, uncomfortable, seats. Listening to the organ, no light show, looking at the banners in the rafters, you could just feel the history. I got to go down and walk on the floor after the game. One of the things I had to do before I die. There was a little spot in Japan, maybe 45 min. or so from Yokota, AB. Back in the late 80s it was called the Rock. It was about a 20 foot or so waterfall on a creek. Had some fun times up there. San Diego Riverwalk in San Antonio - Casa Rio was good Mexican food and there was an English Pub style place that was pretty fun too. Nice to go to the Riverwalk then walk over to the Alamodome and see the Spurs play. Ft. Lauderdale Sometimes I miss DC too.

Re: Favorite Places You Have Visited
Interlaken, Switzerland was a pretty cool place that I wouldn't mind spending some more time. Anywhere in Germany is a great time.
Here in the US, I love the Redwood forest, Garden of the Gods (Colorado) and Mt. Katahdin/Knife's Edge (Maine).

Antigua, Guatemala. Great small town that was slightly touristy, but a great place to learn a the Spanish language and get a good taste of the Spanish/Mayan flavor of culture.

Adding to NYC a must see there is MSG. My first time there was seeing Pearl Jam there back in May. So much history there, so much energy from the crowd the place was electric.
