Fact is that even though Denver screwed the pooch, Denver gave themselves a better chance to improve their team beyond just getting Bailey. We got Portis, but denyed ourselves the ability to have a chance to help our team in addition to Portis.

I think I already said something about screwing the pooch.

Regardless, the strategy, for lack of a better word, employed by the Skins FO was bad regardless of the end result. A straight-up trade would have been feasible, but they had to give up the pick. I already said Denver screwed the pooch with regards to what they actually got. But, Denver's strategy was better. They gave themselves more chances to get a good player out of their duds. They weren't successful, but they gave themselves more chances.
