Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
It is about time for CP to go. He did some good things and bad but over all i would say it was good. I will always remember his first play for us man I thought for sure after that play we would go to the big game.

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
I remember when Mark Brunell did the same thing, and it was only like 3 weeks after MB put his home up for sale, he was gone.
Portis during his best (2004, 2005) gave us what redskins football was all about. But sadly, the back part of his career (2006- now) showed all of what was wrong in Washington. No discipline, no committment, etc. before Mike Shanahan showed up. Best of luck to Portis. I wonder what team he will sign with. I imagine he will be a backup at his age and with his injury concerns.

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
That's sad to me. CP has been more of a pain in the ass the last couple years than his play on the field was worth, but he seemed to get his act together this year under Shanny. I would love to see him stay as a 3rd down back, he is still as good as any in the nfl at blitz pickups.
If he's cut, I could see him in NE unless they use some of their many picks on RBs. They love to add vets that can fill in a limited role & CP could do that. |

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
Now we have a greater draft need at another position. Ugh.
Plus, as freddy indicated, we've got big blocking shoes to fill. I wonder, who would buy a multimillion dollar house with a stripper pole?

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
Yup. It was always the extra draft pick that irked me about that deal.

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
I want Portis back and I want him in the starting line up. If he goes down, Torain can step in.

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
That 2nd rounder became Tatum Bell... so at least the pick didn't become a Hall of Famer or anything

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
I don't know that he is gone. He lives in Miami. Probably doesn't need two homes. I doubt he'll be here more than one more year but theres a decent chance that we need him.

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
I heard somewhere that Portis owns several properties in the DMV area.

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
Could very well be nothing.
Shanahan is a fan of CP, and vice versa. If they can work out a deal that makes sense I can definitely see CP coming back. |

Re: Portis Puts Home Up For Sale
Regardless of his outcome, I think we can all say his efforts over the years have been appreciated. I don't think it would come as a surprise to anyone if he's not here.
